Nebraska Methodist College
Nebraska Methodist College will join colleges and universities across the nation to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (MLK Day) on Monday, January 18, 2010. On this national King Day of Service NMC will serve our community and live out the values of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by partnering with the Omaha Housi...ng Authority (OHA) to make health kits for residents of the OHA’s senior towers. Student volunteers will assemble 400 kits and distribute them during the first week back to school for the 2010 spring semester.
An assembly line will be set up in the Josie Harper Lobby from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Monday, January 18; students will be able to fill the kits during their lunch and other down times. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the ways they can serve our community through educational displays and an interactive mural.
