Omaha Vineyard Church Prayer for our kids, week 10!

Omaha Vineyard Church
Hi Family –
Today marks Week 9 of our prayer and fasting for the kids. This week’s prayer topic is that they will have a ‘Hunger for the Word.’ The passage is Psalm 119:105 and Matthew 4:4:
Psalm 119:105 -
105 Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light for my path.
Matthew 4:4 –
4Jesus answered, "It is written: 'M...an does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'[a]"
As I pray this for our kids this week, deep down my soul is stirred because I want this to be a desire in my own life as well. (sounds just like God to pull that one out of His hat, huh?)
To live (abundantly, abandoned, all out, surrendered) every day like I am feasting on the very words that have come from His mouth… words that do more than sustain…. words that illuminate… words that are LIFE itself. That’s what He wants for us and our kids.
God, give us that desire and hunger! Only You can make us hungry. Only You can make us satisfied. May Your word go before us and our children as it has gone before every generation. We praise You for your faithfulness. We praise You that your words are the only words that have stood the test of time, proof that there is no other name under heaven that saves. May we and our kids know what it means to grasp that … and what it means to be grasped by a God that loves us enough to never let go. We pray that your words flow deep and become the core of who we are and who we want to be. We pray our kids grow up knowing the sweet words of Your love story for them and bring nourishment to every part of their being. Thank you for your word, Lord... and for being The Word.
Bless!

Hi Family,
Today kicks off week 8 of praying for our children. This week’s topic is, The Armor of God. The scripture is Ephesians 6:
Children and Parents
1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2"Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3"that it may go well with ...you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."[a] 4Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Slaves and Masters
5Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, 8because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.
9And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
The Armor of God
10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
19Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Final Greetings
21Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing. 22I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you.
23Peace to the brothers, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
My prayer this week is that they know the Mighty One…the One who has already won the battle and causes them to stand firm and fearlessly make the gospel known. Give us your feedback! We’d love to know what you’re learning through this time of fasting and how God is touching you and our kids!
Love,

Omaha Vineyard Church Week 7.... Knowing God's Compassion.... check it out under events.

Hey Family,
How are you holding up?!? This week is week 7 of the Children’s Ministry fast… over ½ way there! The topic of the week for our kiddos is ‘Knowing God’s Compassion.’ The Scripture for this week is Psalm 145:8-9:
8 The LORD is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.
9 The LORD is ...good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.
So many children out there have experienced the opposite of this, simply because of living in a shattered, fallen world. Pray for the children who need to know the compassion of a loving Father, Comforter, Healer, Restorer and One who stands against injustice on their behalf.
Bless,
The Children’s Ministry Team

Take3, week 6 - Being a Light
Hi Family,
My apologies for getting this out late this week. No doubt that the significance of each child was brought to the forefront this past week with the passing of our sweet little Ashlynn. There’s something about circumstances like these that make us want to hold our kids a little tig...hter… snuggle with them just a little bit longer and reflect back on what God is doing in their lives and how He’s molding them. All week long as I’ve been processing the whole scenario, I’ve had ‘this little light of mine’ running through my head whenever I thought about Ashlynn and the joy of Jesus she constantly radiated. When I sat down to write this email this morning, I was surprised to see that the title for this week was ‘Being a Light’ and thought, ‘Lord, how appropriate and perfect your timing.’
The passage for this week is Matthew 5:13-16:
Matthew 5:13-16 (New International Version)
Salt and Light
13"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Thank you for praying for our little lights…. May they cause us to praise the Father and recognize His goodness.
Loving you,
The Children’s Ministry Team
