Vicente Mercado Today I had lunch in the teachers' lounge for the first time in many years. All I heard was shop talk. Some people should lower their voices and be more respectful to those around them.

I know several people who use it and it works for them. However, I much prefer to use the time to teach students to make responsible choices about what to do rather than having assigned things to do.

Marlene Mathison I am much more of fan of a Balanced Literacy Approach, but I teach in a Reading First. I need to implement Imagine It/Open Court w/ "fidelity to the program". Thought I could support here.

In order to foster a love of reading it’s important to include additional literature related to your unit theme in your classroom library. Here are direct links to recommended literature.

Betty Laughlin Burke We have just started using Imagine It after using OCR for 6 years. Was glad to see familiar stories. Look forward to sharing materials for the new stories.

I'm referring to huge class sizes, no supply budget, pay cuts, school closures, etc. here in CA. Teaching under current conditions...yes, it's a mess.

Francie Kugelman

Francie Kugelman I love the weekly PowerPoints introducing the words. My students watch them, and the best part is some other great teacher made them! What I need is all the weekly planning in an electronic file so I can give this to the principal. Anyone have this for fifth grade OCR 2002? I would love this!
