Organizing for America - Indiana

Organizing for America - Indiana You did it! You blew the goal of 100,000 calls to Congress out of the water -- amazing. So now, we've set a new goal: 150,000 calls to Congress made or committed in a single day. If you haven't already, please take a moment to call now: http://my.barackobama.com/timetodeliver?source=1020_TTDCalls_FBStates

Health insurance reform is finally headed to the full Congress, and insurance company lobbyists on Capitol Hill are working overtime to kill it. Calling is quick and easy, but effective -- your voice has tremendous power at this critical moment.

If we can get 100,000 calls to Congress placed or committed to on a single day it will set a new OFA record -- and really shake up the debate in Washington. But it won't be easy. Can we count on you?

America can't wait until 2013 for a public option to be set-up. At least 80,000 Americans will die due to a lack of health insurance from now until then.

I support Anthony Weiner's amendment to HR 3200 and HR 676 to institute an improved Medicare for All. A single payer, government sponsored, national health insurance is the only way to cut down cost, give free choice to patients, and give ALL Americans health care.

You don't believe me? Watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi1acHg3mhw ... Read More

And there's much more out there. The insurance companies have to go. A public option is only going to keep them in the system. No amount of regulations is going to stop them. They are doing exactly what they are supposed to be doing. Making profit and minimizing losses. What is a loss? When a person gets sick and they have to pay for it, the HMO considers that a loss!

Watch Anthony Weiner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9kLN1CzKDg

And guess what? When Medicare was set-up, it took 11 months to start treating Seniors. We could do the same thing and cover everybody by 2013 and the HMOs would be out! Isn't that what we all want? Okay, I'm exaggerating it's only a majority of Americans and doctors who want a single-payer, government sponsored, national health insurance.

I would prefer HR 676 - but if we have to accept a watered-down version, it better have a strong public option. Without that, any bill loses my support as it becomes merely a The Insurance Industry Profit Protection And Enhancement Act without anything to make health care more affordable for you and me.
