Organizing for America - Massachusetts

Organizing for America - Massachusetts

Organizing for America - Massachusetts Today the Senate passed a historic health reform bill. We still face one last round of negotiations and final votes in the Senate and the House.
But as you celebrate this holiday season, remember that the work you are doing is making our union more perfect, one step at a time.

my.barackobama.com
Organizing for America supporters are signing a note of appreciation to all the senators who have worked so hard to pass reform. I just joined them. Will you?

I don't know how you let the Reform Bill change this much....but it is depressively disappointing.

This bill is an insult to those of us who supported Obama and the promises made on the campaign trail.

Very discouraged.

Organizing for America - Massachusetts The United States Senate is on the verge of passing historic health reform legislation. Taken together, the provisions of this bill represent the most significant health reform since the creation of Medicare.

This bill represents the most significant health reform our nation has seen since the creation of Medicare. It's important that every American knows what's really at stake this holiday season. Please share this list with your friends and family.

First do no harm. The Senate bill does not pass that test. Take a stand Mr President and do what you promised. Stand up for WE THE PEOPLE not THEY THE CORPORATIONS. I gave and worked and voted for you. My time, money, and vote are all precious to me. I hope they weren't given in vain. You still have time to become the President we thought you could be. So far you've fallen way short.

He's not here to urge us toward health reform. So I humbly ask on his behalf.

You're not seeing the forest through the trees. Look at what we are actually achieving! To paraphrase Tom Harkin "we aren't building a mansion, we are building a really great starter house." Did you know that social security initially was passed to protect widows and orphans? And now look how expansive it is. This is the same direction that health ... See Morereform is going. If we had let the perfect be the enemy of the good we wouldn't have medicare, SCHIP, social secruity, unemployment, etc.. Because of this reform, my sister, who has a very serious pre-existing condition that prohibits her getting insurance, will be able to get affordable health insurance that covers her monthly medical bills. My parents, who are small business owners, will be able to insure their employees without using 40% of their overhead (and almost going out of business) to do it, and my great aunt, who was dropped from her health insurance in the middle of her fight with breast cancer, will be able to obtain insurance. You have got to get one foot in the door to go up the stairs, and with all of my respect to Secretary Clinton, they weren't able to pass a bill (very similar to this) through the house and senate, and it took us fifteen YEARS to get the topic back on the table. I hope you will move forward thinking about this legislation as the PROCESS it is, not as an "outcome."

Organizing for America - Massachusetts Fact Check: Learn the truth behind the Republican's False Claims on Health Reform

www.democrats.org
December 16, 2009 - Please see below for a fact check on comments made earlier today on FOX News by Minority Leader John Boehner, falsely claiming that the American people do not want health reform and that reform would result in government-run health care:...
Rob Halpin
Rob Halpin
The educated progressive populace that elected Obama already KNOWS the truth behind the Republicans' lies about healthcare.

The question is, if WE know, and if YOU know, why didn't you stand up to them to ensure we had a robust healthcare bill that would cover every single American, with a public option for those unable to secure insurance through... See More the private system? This is what you campaigned on. This is why I voted for you.

Why, with control over the White house - and with a majority in the Senate and Congress - could you not get this done? Can we have a "Fact Check" on that, please?

Thank you Erik B. I have hope when I see people actually trying to understand the problem and not wrestle on separate sides of the isle. If we keep going the way we are, we will drop our country in a hole so deep we will be back on the edge of depression. Maybe that's what is meant by "his failure is our success." Sick, sick people.

Organizing for America - Massachusetts Following the best jobs numbers since 2007, the President recognizes
that such trends are cold comfort to those who are struggling and
pledges to continue pushing forward towards positive job growth. He
looks back at the Jobs Forum he hosted days before and looks ahead to
further action. He emphatically restates why he ran... for President in
the first place: to fight for a country where responsibility is still
rewarded, and hard-working people can get ahead.
