Yes! 220 votes, two more than needed to pass the House health care bill! Now we can move on to debates and reconciliation between House and Senate bills. Stupak amendment is another thing completely. My new purpose in life is to see Stupak and the rest of the "blue dog dems" plus those on the White House Staff who put 'em there, ALL be unseated. It... Read More's a throwback to 50s or 60s before Roe v. Wade became law. If women are willing to pay for private insurance to cover an abortion, we have that right. What happened to less government and free market policies that fiscally conservative blue dogs want so much?
If Viagra is covered under the new pharma agreement as part of the new health care program, it should be removed immediately, if women aren't allow a choice!

Wish I knew how long this process takes but if this bill gets through both houses, it should be tweaked and amended. Women should revolt before this process starts, during or even after. We must let 'em know we won't comprise our rights w/Stupak's amendment in it!!!

Late last night, under pressure from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and from anti-choice Democrats in the House, the Rules Committee agreed to allow a vote today on a destructive abortion amendment proposed by Rep. Bart Stupak. The proposed Stupak amendment to the health reform bill goes well beyond the current status quo. It ... Read Morewould ban any abortion coverage in the so-called "public option." This means that even women buying insurance with their own private money would not be able to get a plan that covers abortion. Moreover, the Stupak amendment would write the Hyde Amendment into law, permantly prohibiting the use of federal Medicaid dollars for abortion coverage. Act now to block this! http://tiny.cc/MIP2a

Can't get to St. Paul tonight but have been watching CSPAN on and off all day. I am "represented" in Congress by John Kline and was so incensed that I fired off an email to his office in the last few minutes. Let's hope his staff is monitoring these in real time.

Organizing for America - Minnesota Unbelievable. 150,000 calls to
Congress in a single day. Let's keep building the momentum for health
insurance reform -- can we get to 200,000?

Health insurance reform is finally headed to the full Congress, and insurance company lobbyists on Capitol Hill are working overtime to kill it. Calling is quick and easy, but effective -- your voice has tremendous power at this critical moment.

Senator Franken's office said that they will fight hard for public option and the President's plan; where as both Sen Klobuchar and Rep Walz' office both said...still listening to their constituents. I was polite, yet suggested that Rep Walz get a spine like Rep Grayson from Florida. I know Rep Walz and will say that to his face the next time I see him.

If we can get 100,000 calls to Congress placed or committed to on a single day it will set a new OFA record -- and really shake up the debate in Washington. But it won't be easy. Can we count on you?
