Hal Judge

Hal Judge The Canberra Writers Festival has a little something for all tastes. It kicks off on Thursday 19 June with some tips for using technology to increasing the audiences for your writing, followed by best-selling speculative fiction author Garth Nix talking about his latest book. On Friday there’s a hip hop workshop, the opening night party and then The Big Damn Turboslam featuring Sydney word hurler, Miles Merrill. Saturday 21 June features a zine fair with over 25 tables. Later that night at the pitching comp, writers have 2 minutes to pitch an idea for a book proposal to a panel of judges! On Sunday meet best-selling thriller writer Michael Robotham or read your work at the Generation Next event for writers under 30. Monday features red hot romance writers and award winning novelist, David Malouf. The evening sessions are free, while the whole weekend of writing seminars costs only $10 for full-time students.
