Blaine,
No problem. Thanks for the suggestion. Actually, I'm busy working the Sports producer gig (the one that pays the bills) for baltimoresun.com, so I'm not in Fort Lauderdale. I'm actually thinking about taking a vacation in the middle of March and coming down to Florida to catch some games. My uncle lives in Tampa..., so it might not necessarily be the Orioles that I'm watching, but I just might try to see as many different teams as possible.

Ben -- That's a good suggestion. I'll add him to the list, but I'm running out of time before the season starts, so I can't guarantee that I'll get to everyone. With that said, feel free to use the Discussion Board on this page to facilitate conversation and your own "Predict the future" items. I have no problem with t...hat, and in fact I think it might help stir up predictions.
Tom -- I'm glad that you appreciate the blog and it makes me feel proud that I've introduced another person to minor league baseball. I'll do my best to keep you informed, but don't forget to check out other Web sites around the Internet that can also add information. If you get up to Aberdeen this year, let me know. I usually get there and Bowie the most (because they are the two closest).
Thanks again,
Dean

Blaine,
Awesome. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely make a note and try to get to all of those guys before the end of spring training. They're all good choices, and it will be interesting to see how they perform in 2009.
Thanks for checking out the blog.

Walker,
Thanks for the compliments. I always enjoy positive feedback -- even negative comments are OK because I don't get easily offended, but good stuff is always better. :)
As for your requests, I almost did a "Predict the future" about Miclat today, but I decided on Troy Patton instead (http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com.../sports/minors/blog/2009/02/troy_patton_ future_orioles_min.html).
I'll definitely consider all three players in the future because they all three have the potential to make it to the major leagues.
Thanks again for the feedback.
Best regards,
Dean

Mark,
A quick search of Google brought this result. I think it does more at answering your question than I could. It mentions that he had career-ending arm surgery, but it looks like he's doing well in his post-baseball life.

John,
To be honest, I haven't heard any talk about moving the Triple-A team from Norfolk. I'm sure the team's location in Norfolk is not set in stone, but they will play there at least through 2010.
Here is an article from the Tides' Web site from 2006. It mentions that the agreement was for four years. I haven't seen an...ything to say that's been increased, but I'm sure we'll hear something in the next year or so.

Christopher,
Thanks for the kind words. It's good to have someone with experience in the minor leagues who is contributing. Feel free to share some of those memories, either on the discussion board above, or on the wall where you previously posted. I'm sure a lot of fans would like to hear some of your memorable "conver...sations" with players and managers.
Like you said, it's unfortunate that Richmond won't have a team this year. I have a friend who is a Braves fan, and he still can't believe they won't be in Richmond this year. That just gives you an excuse to head over to Norfolk and catch some of the Orioles' top prospects in 2009! :)
Thanks again for participating,
Dean

Mike,
Thanks for joining. The more the merrier. I'd love to hear the fans' views too. That's the main reason for getting this fan page going.
Mike and everyone else,
Please feel free to use "The Wall", the "Discussion Board", as well as the Video, Photo and other tools on the page to contribute as much as you'd like. Wit...h more people participating, it will make it more fun and more useful for everyone.
Also, if you like what you see, spread the word to all of the Orioles fans you know. I'm sure everyone that spends time joining a fan page for a blog about the Orioles minor leaguers is going to be a die-hard fan, so use the page to share your love with others.
Thanks,
Dean
PS -- I'm not sure if you guys can create "Events" or "Notes" in those sections, or if only I'm allowed to do that. If you'd like to have minor league baseball related events or notes added, you can e-mail them to me, send them to me in a message on Facebook or another way, and I'll post them.

Kate -- Welcome. Hope you enjoy reading the blog posts. Feel free to participate early and often.
Rich -- I believe almost all Orioles fans share your sentiment. With Wieters continuing to pile up the accolades, it's only a matter of time.

Hey guys,
To everyone that signed up as a "fan" of the blog, thanks a lot. For all of the kind words, thanks even more.
As always, please don't hesitate to contact me (on here, through e-mail, as a comment on the blog) and I'll do my best to answer.
Please remember that I'm only one person, so if I don't get back to you ...within a day or so, try again. I promise that I'm really an easygoing person and will do my best to make everyone happy. Just let me know what's on your mind.
Also, feel free to use all of the tools on this fan page. To be honest, I'm just learning all the different gadgets on Facebook. I'm sure a lot of you will use the discussion board to talk about the latest O's news -- and it can be about the major leagues too, even though this is a minor league blog.
Remember, upload any photos and videos of minor league action to the page. It's an asset to others, and I know there are Orioles fans out there with photos of the prospects!
Thanks again,
Dean
