Ben Noll

Ben Noll Question about the new wireless system: The new wireless system supports Snow Leopard, but what is the point in upgrading if Snow Leopard isn't supported with the res-net in dorm cisco-clean-access system? Or is it now supported in dorm as well?

Nicole Pisano

Nicole Pisano Suggestion: Wireless in lounges. Or any kind of internet access. This will aid in studying ( what the the lounges are for).

SUNY Oswego - Campus Technology Services The new wireless system is now up, with one exception. We are working with our vendor to track down issues preventing iPod devices running firmware 3.x from connecting.

Yes. What we encountered post-upgrade is that a hyperlink that you're required to click on is for some reason 'unclickable' on devices running firmware 3.x.

SUNY Oswego - Campus Technology Services We experienced a few delays earlier this afternoon which are now causing us to extend the wireless outage in order to finish the upgrade. Thank you for your patience.

Shelwyn Becker I can connect to the wireless in the Campus Center, but the VPN client will not log in with my username. It has worked perfectly this entire semester until now. I have a MacBook with Leopard on it.

There could be a number of reasons for this. Please call our office the next time you're in a wireless area so we can check a few things.

Trish Ever since the CAA was updated to the NAC Agent, it's been taking me anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes just to log in, makes me accept the terms of services every time, and every time I restart my computer it tells me I don't have automatic updates turned on and makes me repair it, even though they are turned on. I never h...ad any problems with the old agent, and it never took more than 30 seconds to log in. What's up with that?

The NAC client does take slightly longer to scan and authenticate than the previous version, but not nearly on the scale you've described.

Abnormally long waits are often caused by a surplus of cached updates, a malware infection, or file corruption on the hard drive.

If the status of Automatic Updates is in flux, I'd suggest you scan your computer for malware using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware or SuperAntiSpyware. Links to both can be found on the CTS site on the Software Downloads page.

SUNY Oswego - Campus Technology Services Tommorow morning (12/10), there will be a brief wireless outage between 7am and 8am as we resolve a few minor issues we have had this week. Also, during the same time, students living in Onondaga, Seneca, Cayuga, and Oneida Halls may notice a loss of connectivity lasting between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. This is so tha...t we can resolve a hardware issue in one of our Clean Access servers.
