Nick, it had Windows 7 preinstalled when you originally bought it? If so, do you have the original receipt?

It will require an 802.1x supplicant installed under Windows. Other OSes such as Mac OS and Linux have that support built-in.

Steven I know I have a lot of posts, but all of this needs to be said:

Steven I have been reading some of the posts on this page for the past few weeks and as a fellow student and someone who has a lot of pride in the school I attend, I have to say that I am very ashamed of the way my classmates are acting!

Steven You are all just blatantly rude! I feel sorry for whomever needs to read all of this. You are representing the college, even if you don't realize it. You should be aware of what you are saying is public what you say here really doesn't make you look any better than the "retards" you speak of. (I am not calling anyone retarded, just pointing out what has been said).

Steven CTS is actually moving to make changes on campus. Maybe you cant tell because things take time, but to be honest it's very fast. I have seen changes on other campuses take years and the fact that CTS is moving in the direction they are going very quickly is impressive!

Steven It seems there are a lot of "hackers" on campus that find ways to use the software provided for connectivity to the network. I know that everyone is working diligently to improve the experience on campus, but most of you don't. You also need to be aware of the policies put into place by the administration and that you are most likely breaking these policies which can lead to judicial action.

As your fellow classmate, I ask of you to be kind to the employees of Campus Technology Services. They try their best and work around the clock at times to make sure we all have what we NEED! Honestly, you have been warned that 64-bit processors and operating systems would not work on campus. If you just listened to... your instructions then there would be no problems. Maybe you need to read and pay attention more, rather than rant and rave about something that will not be fixed over night and just because you say so.Read More

Are you really suggesting that the bittorrent protocol was designed with the goal of illustrating the need for ISP's to build better networks? Did you seriously just draw a parallel between CTS's wireless overhaul and universal health care? Are you honestly signing your facebook post as a white hat hacker? Dude...what?

eh all this Steven person wants is attention so he does it by acting like a baby online and posting of how upset he is because he has no life and acting like he has real authority. He probably has no idea how hard it is to program stuff let alone he probably has never wrote a line of code his entire life. so if he wants a flame war I say bring it on I have a big pile of flaming garbage ready to go with his name on it

Shawn I'm seeing this Oswego-OpenHouse network in the Campus Center. I'm on it right now. If this is the new system, it works on Karmic Koala, and should work on everything else (not my iPod touch, but could be because my netbook is logged in). Will this be up for a while, or just today?

This was just for today. We had a network created for guests and prospective students to use the wireless network.

Shawn, this is not how the new system works. From time to time we are asked to provide access to conferences and other guests of the campus. These temporary wireless networks are often limited to certain physical locations. How we provide them wireless is different from what we are planning to deploy campus wide.
