"A New Hope" Our Fourth Installment of Students and Startups
Students and Startups is about connecting students looking for meaningful and relevent work experience with startups looking for enthusiastic and energetic candidates. Students and Startups will take place at TheCodeFactory and students from Carleton Universi...ty, Algonquin College and University of Ottawa are welcome to attend.
Students and Startups 4 is a great way for interested students to find meaningful and exciting employment. Students and Startups is geared towards 3rd and 4th year engineering and computer students.
Registration has been limited to 20 but please email info@thecodefactory.ca to plead your case for participation after capacity has been reached.
Thus far startups include: Infonium, Baby Go, TravelPod and Coral CEA.

This event is the monthly open source business breakfast for the Ottawa area. The intention is to bring industry, government, academia, and community together once a month for an enjoyable breakfast of networking, good food, and a couple of short (15 minute) presentations. ...
The Code Factory
The Buddy System is a new event at The Code Factory and like most of TheCodeFactory events, The Buddy System will be light weight, informal, fun and friendly with the intent of helping those just starting out. The belief is that entrepreneurs who have 'done it' successfully or those currently 'doing it' are the best to... teach those just starting out. The buddy system is the start-up founders sharing their thoughts, perspective and lessons learned on getting going in a start-up company.
The Buddy System will be held for the first time on the 28th of October and occur on a monthly basis thereafter. Each session will feature founders of successful, local start-ups.
This month's session is being presented by Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP with featured speakers from Lumenera Corporation:

TeamCamp is held every 1st and 3rd Thursday from 5:45 to 8:00PM on the 2nd floor of the The Code Factory at 246 Queen St.... West in Ottawa. You do not need to be a member to come to a TeamCamp meeting however eventually you will need to join the TeamCamp Wiki to participate fully.

The Code Factory The open space has been sectioned off. This is one of the 3 meeting rooms. They have a garage door between them and the table can be moved easily. The rooms seat 6,4,6 people. So you can book the rooms for 4 people upto 16 people.
