Outlaw Journalist

Outlaw Journalist Don't you think John Cusack needs to buy the film rights to "Outlaw Journalist" so he can portray Hunter S. Thompson on the big screen? Come on -- let's have some "hell yeah"s to that idea.

No. Simply put. Depp and Murray did amazing in my opinion. I see Depp being given those rights.

Outlaw Journalist The UK paperback edition is out now. Check online for reviews. The Times of London named it the paperback pick of the week. However, that was a couple of weeks ago, so it probably doesn't count anymore.

If you could market that as a poster, it'd hang in every college dorm room in America.

He was the synthesis of the two. The same could be asked of Hemingway, Marquez, Twain... The idea comes from his using new journalism techniques, along with novel writing techniques. He was a master of both styles of writing. Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas stands easily alongside On The Road, and his reporting, like in F.A.L. On The Campaign Trail, is as good as it could get (I love the part where Hunter almost throws a weed-roach in the gas tank of Nixon's limo).

He was a soldier, who fought to keep the American dream alive; to live without boundaries and awake the masses. He kicked you in the teeth and then passed you a beer. It is the simplicity of his work and the undying spirit within him that separated him from the rest - a sage carrying a shotgun on one hand and a bottle of Wild Turkey on the other. Mahalo.
