So was it the managers time of the month?

I was really appallingly treated. My chair was kicked from behind by the manager because I had moved it in the way, so why he couldn't ask politely to move I don't know! When I challenged him about his behaviour he had the audacity to lie to me and tell me that he shook my chair with his hand ( which by the way isn't any better!) I was trying to work out if he had a third hand because he had a plate in each hand when my chair was kicked! Work that one out!
I explained to the manager that I may not have heard him as I wear hearing aids only to be rudely told "well it's a good job I shook your chair then isn't it" and then turned his back on me and walked off.
I have never been so angry, how I didn't clock him one I'll never know!
What an arrogant man.

I won't be going there again and I won't recommend it to my friends.
When I go for a drink and spend my money at your bar I expect to be treated fairly and to have a pleasant time. I don't expect a torrent of abuse and lies.
The rest of the staff were great, how do they cope working with such an unpleasant person?

so, we landed in oxford with no idea where to find a quiet spot for a pint and some food and were directed towards a pub our advisor couldn't remember the name of or exactly where it was.

my family and my friend's presence seemed to be an inconvenience to the manager, who's reaction to my children's eatting habits was remarkable and whose rudeness to one of my friends was pretty inexcusable.

beer, flat, food pretty good and reasonable for the price, hence the one star.

would i go back.... nope if i want to be insulted by a manager i'll go to the half moon, the beers better the ambience is better and the music is fantastic.

How can I best describe The Turf?
Ambience - Outstanding, a warm and friendly atmosphere, Hobbit friendly ceilings, that are a source of amusement for the vertically challanged, as we watch freakishly tall people bang there heads.
Food - Superb - needs more vegetarian options but still scrumptious all the same.
Beer - Fantasticly wide range to suit anyone and everyone and served by warm and friendly people who care about your intoxication.
Staff - These are the wide range of warm and friendly people who care about your intoxication - they lovely they are.
Location - As easy to find as Harry Potters Platform 9 3/4 - best to go with someone who knows where it is or you will find yourself wandering around aimlessly.
Facilities - Can only speak for the ladies but bloody cold bog seats in the winter - fix it........ please.
Merchandising - Limited.......that is all Ican say.
And finally - Ta Da - The Landlord - Exceptionally friendly and outgoing gentleman - sees all, hears all, looks damn fine. Grrr

And the food is delightful, always cooked with a smile. Almost worth the 3 day wait.
