hi , yesterday, in St Louis my husband and i went to a lecture given by Dr. Joel Perlmutter directer of the Movement Disorder Center at Washington Universty in St. Louis. He updated us on the progress made during the past year in Parkinson's research. He then answered many questions. There are many studies going on a...t Wash U all year long. I am at this time participating in 4 of those studies. i was diagnosed with PD just over 2 years ago and am willing to participate in just about any study that i qualify and have time for. Before the lecture yesterday, i came in contact with the folks from PDtrials. I got a hat and had my picture taken. i am so honored to be able to do anything i can to help find a cure for Parkinson's. Since I live near St. Louis and my neurologist, Dr. Karimi, works with Dr. Perlmutter in the Movement Disorder center, I expect to have many opportunities to participate in onsite studies at Wash U.Read More

Season Bergmann I have 3 family members with Parkinson's, and I would like to help by learning all I can to further understand the daily struggle my loved ones endure every day. Any knowledge out there, new and old, please post, I love my family, and appreciate any information on this disease. Me, like many family members trying to understand, am thankful for all help so I can assist and love my family.

Sharon Kellogg My late father had Parkinsons and it was very difficult to diagnose because he didn't have the shaking symptoms. His was loss of coordination and falling down. The doctors put him on some sort of meds and it seemed to help. This all happened over twenty years ago so I don't remember much more; but the important thing is to not give up and pray that they find a cure.
