| Biography | DEBUT ALBUM "SMOKE & MIRRORS" OUT NOW! "Smoke & Mirrors" was released on the 16th August 2010. The album has already received a plethora of glowing press referencing Eno's best work with Roxy Music, The Cocteau Twins, Nick Cave, Goldfrapp, Portishead and David Lynch. Furthermore, Q Magazine and Classic Rock Magazine have also championed the lead single "Voodoo Romantic" with a Track of The Day ac...colade. "Voodoo Romantic" is available as a FREE download on Phantom's website: www.thisisphantom.com __________________________________________________ Phantom’s debut single, Great Pretender, was released in September 2009. It was produced by James Aparicio, who's worked alongside bands such as XX Teens,These New Puritans and Phantom favourites Nick Cave and Mogwai. "Great Pretender" gained the band a plethora of glowing reviews, interviews and features in The Quietus, Clash Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, Musio Music TV, Cherry Red TV and Diesel:U:Music Radio. Q Magazine named it their single of the day and called it " too theatrical to be ignored, the aural equivalent of a black cat sneaking accros silk sheets." With press accolades referencing Elsie as a female version of Tindersticks' Stuart Staples and Morrissey, nods to Nick Cave, The Velvet Underground, the Shoegaze genre and even mention of Phantom's music fitting a David Lynch film soundtrack, it has been a difficult task to describe the Phantom sound – a unique bittersweet weaving of the delicate and the bold; the thunderous and the devastatingly seductive. The release of the "Great Pretender" video saw another wave of Phantom press, however, this time Phantom were set to take over the retail world as well. The video was selected to be playlisted in all Topshop and Topman stores in the UK – that’s 400 stores and an audience of 3 million plus each week.
