The Starters were founded in 2007 by Young Live in an effort to create a fresh and unique party experience in the city of Chicago and beyond. They have held residencies at SkyBar, Funky Buddha Lounge, and Sonotheque as well as their most recent continuing residency on S...undays at Butterfly Social Club. They have also had the opportunity to perform at some of the hottest venues in Chicago, performing with such acts as Designer Drugs, Nick Catchdubs, Million $ Mano, DJ Sega and Hollywood Holt. Their layering of diverse genres of dance music with samples and live elements guarantee a truly unique experience every time. YOUNG LIVE Jeremy Davis, better known as Young Live of the Starters DJ's and Basix has had a vast journey through music. Starting as a producer at the age of 14, by 16 he was having instrumentals circulating for purchase among local talent and scouts. By 2002 he went solo to put out two mixtapes (Real Time, 4.T.5.), one of which had mention at the Justo Mixtape Awards. Enrolling in Columbia College in 2004 he linked up with Don P. to form the group Tha Basix. They have performed with artists such as Rhymefest and have held residencies with venues around Chicago such as Funky Buddha Lounge. Within the next few years, Young Live formed the Starters Dj's, who were known for remix production and mash ups. The Starters were founded in 2007 by Young Live in an effort to create a fresh and unique party experience in the city of Chicago and beyond. Powered by his production, he has been able to formulate a roster of dj's and producers that spotlights their talents. They have held residencies at Abbey Pub, Funky Buddha Lounge, and Sonotheque as well as being regulars at such hot spots as Debonair and La Passage. They have also had the opportunity to perform at some of the more larger venues in Chicago, performing with such acts as Diplo, Shawty Lo, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, N.A.S.A., Cool Kids, DJ Sega and Mickey Factz. Young Live's production has made an impact in new wave music that is spanning nationally as well as globally with various singles that have been rated #1's online and reviewed by the likes of NY Magazine and more. He has been able to lend his talents to make remixes for such artists as George Clinton, Kid Sister, Hey Champ and Chester French.
