Pakistan Sustainability Network One major problem in running Solid Waste Compost Plant in a low-income area such as KKB-3 is training, setting processes in place (when to measure temperature, moisture level, when to add more carbon rich or nitrogen rich material) to our ground level staff. Right now, we are learning our selves and training to our st...aff the difference between composting and rotting vegetables/waste! Hope to change that soon!

Pakistan Sustainability Network Update from Khuda Ki Basti Karachi: We(adminstration at the Basti) have started recovery of 30rupees/month to provide waste management services and to run the compost plant in the Basti. Today was Day1. We went to 170 homes (of our total 2,000 population). Recovered 1260 Rupees from 42 homes. Pictures are below. We ha...ve a lady also to translate and talk to women in homes.
