Contrary to what it might look like, I wasn’t nervous at all...Well at least I wasn’t when I started playing. I was lucky enough to be able to treat the crowd of nearly 6,000 to a mix of progressive, old trance, and full-on Psy. What a great night! (even though Baby K wasn’t doing my visuals). This is the biggest crowd I’ve played for in Manila. Many thanks to the promoters for setting up the venue with great lights and sounds- I was standing inside of a space with 8 monitors , wild crowd loving it...

Big thanks to Candi K for being just the slightest bit sober enough to videotape this.
I was lucky enough to do both the Opening and Closing sets at Gatecrasher. Now don’t get me wrong, just because this is a more mainstream event doesn’t mean I didn’t play full-on Psytrance. Of course for the opening set, I had to slow it down quite a bit, but as 3000+ people jammed the venue and I turned the decks over to Lange, things really got moving...When i got back on the decks after sunrise, Dave Lee handed me the decks on a silver platter at 145bpm -- so I dropped a wicked Quadra track to start my set. The Philippines doesn’t get all that much psytrance, but they were loving it. Special thanks to Lange and Dave Lee who both put on wicked sets that were Trance without being commercial.

Honestly, I can’t really remember which is where now, as on this island partying sometimes gets out of control.br/br/Boracay Island in the Philippines is known for its massive parties in the week leading up to Easter. I got to go there not only for Gatecrasher, but to headline at several of the local clubs in the days before the Event. During the day, Panovision was busy making decorations for Gatecrasher, but every night until dawn I played some wicked psytrance in most of the having-it clubs. At this time of year, the Island is filled with Europeans, Australians and of course the elite Filipinos. And all of this crowd simply loved psytrance. It’s a shame there aren’t much psytrance parties here.br/br/I think some of us should get together and do a br/once-a-year Psytrance festival on Boracay - a captured audience I guarantee will love it. Slinky Manila was a fantastic event. Panovision did the decorations - We started at 8 am and worked non-stop until 8pm, caught a few hours’ sleep and then I got back just in time to play the closing set.
Manila is still not quite used to Psytrance, in fact I am probably the only psy DJ here, but they love the layered sounds and “having it” tunes. It was great to get psytrance into a somewhat mainstream event.

The perfect thing to get people on the dancefloor before the prime set DJ goes “havin’ it!!”
It’s the perfect mix of Progressive and Uplifting.
When it’s a late set I like to pack the dance floors with a mix of Club and uplifting Psychedelic trance. It never fails to get the crowd going. (a href=Entries/2008/4/19_Pan_plays_at_Tiesto_2008.htmlclick on Pan plays at Tiesto” Mix/a)br/br/This was recorded at Warehouse 135 Manila.

When you love Psytrance, absolutely nothing comes close to the sound experience of an outdoor venue (except for maybe the ridiculously expensive OPUS Sound System at Space). br/br/Man, that Amsterdam gig was fantastic, even though I had no Monitors. I headlined the Trance Mafia party, played the Sunrise Set at 6am, and could not escape the DJ Booth earlier than 9:20 as the crowd wanted nothing more than for more twisted tunes they’d never heard before. Quite a collection - thanks to Big Dave and Steve in NZ for sharing all that wicked CD tunes just in time for my European gigs.
The mix you hear above was from the Psymates Party, I’d love to load in samples from all the other shows I did on that tour so if you’d like to send me money I’ll buy more webspace.br/br/I love playing in an outdoor environment. For me outdoors, it’s Full On Psytrance - never dark - always “having-it” rolling bassline tunes. Of course I can be just as happy inside a club, but nothing compares to the outdoors when the sun comes up.br/br/I’ll be both playing and dancing my ass off at various Festivals in Europe 2007. See you on the dance floor.

The name of the show comes from the fact that I had surgery on my brain and I do believe they left a bit of salad in there. But that’s cool, It’s a tasty salad that presents itself when I get behind the decks. Even though it was pretty difficult to be there every Monday (aka. “recovery day”) at noon, I still always had fun and managed to gain a huge audience (some of whom still stalk me today).br/It fast became upFM’s biggest psytrance radio show. br/br/The mix you hear above is from sometime in June last year (2006). It was recorded directly off the radio so if the sound quality kinda sucks, send en email to the Station Manager.
br/br/br/br/MANAGER’S NOTE ::
We are looking for a Manila Radio Home for this wicked show. Pan is an excellent DJ - banging “having it” tunes and seamless mixing. He is a rare mix of a DJ that loves the tunes, and simply doesn’t tire of mixing in and out of tracks (even in the comfort of a teeny-tiny radio studio). I have had to cater to countless requests for recorded radio show CDs from this show-- it’s currently being taken over by Steve and Big Dave while Pan is in Manila.
ok Pan you can have your website back now-- Kbr/
