I think when it comes to shopping for adults is too ask your self a few questions..One dose the person need this? And can I afford it?This year I have ask people not to give me anything for the simple fact I do not need any more stuff. All my friends and family have agreed and I tell you I am looking forward to the Holidays this year as the least stressful in recent memory.

You earn slack by working your butt off, and then if something like life gets in the way, you earned the right to ask for some extra time to get something done... At least that's my thoughts on earning slack.

Ironic how slackers don't earn slack. A reasonable person understands that no one is perfect, but a hard-working, high-standards person of integrity has earned the favor of slack because it is the exception to the rule. Coddling slackers only reinforces bad behavior and prevents them from learning/earning their way in life (as you say, Larry - we're actually hurting them - AND undermining our OWN integrity in the process!)

Rebecca Morgan I'm immersed in a Larry weekend, reading "People Are Idiots..." and yes, I'm one of them! But so is the teacher's union that doesn't want top teachers to get performance pay because the underperforming teachers would feel bad! I heard about this on the radio Sat., but can't recall where this union is.

Dale, Rod...I believe it's ok to have an opinion on someone's acting skills, but please do not stoop so low as to comment on a persons physical attributes...hopefully qualities that we find attractive in people are so much more than physical...and before we comment on someone else's appearance it certainly might be wise to have a look in the mirror

Hi Larry - I don't know if you read the NYT, but I couldn't believe one of the business stories this morning. Apparently, the FHA is now helping people secure loans in some of the most expensive real estate markets in the area. People who can afford down payments on luxury homes are getting taxpayer help. I've attached... the link for anyone who can keep their breakfast down while reading it.

Gotta love this line - "Some FHA borrowers here say they have the cash for a full down payment but would rather invest it in the stockmarket or use it for remodeling." Isn't that precious - I would RATHER have spent my downpayment on bulking up my retirement fund too, but I didn't. I'd love to hear your take on this.

Responsible parenting is about beginning with the end in mind and parenting with a plan. But most parents have never stopped to consider what kind of adult they want to raise. They have all this fun creating a baby, but they don't have a plan for the end product.

I'm a huge "Winget" fan and have been for years. I subscribe heavily to being who I am, standing up for what I believe, and accepting who I am, and accountability for it all. There's nothing in the world like being "real" and "authentic". You certainly know what your're getting.

Larry Winget Neil Cavuto and I talk about the Home buyer tax credit. We disagree for about the first time ever and he thinks I am going soft. I assure you I’m not – just want any “help” to go to people who are spending money on the right things instead of poorly run corporations.

Let me just say here in FLA the only thing out there r short sales & foreclosures and the banks are slower than turtles when it comes to approving them. Or you end up like I did in a house for 18 months under contract under a lease purchase on the 13th month (while waiting to go to closing)have the police come to your door and advise you that the ... Read Morehouse is going into foreclosure because the idiot I was paying $1200.00 a month to did not pay his HOA fees. Then the seller decides to re-fi (how the heck he did I don't know) and suck all the equity out of the house, delays closing 4 times, then blindsides me the purchaser with a short sale which again delayed closing, then tried to sell the freaken place to me at the original sale price even after the appraisal came in lower and the comps said otherwise. Then to find out in researching, the moron was not even suppose to lease the place to me because it was considered a second home only to be occupied by him on vacation. So he was in violation of his mortage contract. So after signing 6 contracts over the course of 18 months and after the last contract expired I advised the seller by certified mail that I would not renew the contract and moved. I knew I would not get my earnest money back because the seller has no money and I would loose out on the $8K tax credit but oh well. I faithfully paid him $22K over 18 months thought I had found my dream home only to find out he was a lying scum bag who had the balls to call me and tell me he was going to come after me if the place was not clean when I left. I not so nicely advised him that the place would be exactly how it was when I moved in and cleaner. I also advised him that I was not a stupid women and I have ever contract and correspondences from and to him over the course of 18 months and that if he felt some need to come after me please do so he then promptly hung up on me. Have not heard a peep out of him. I say buyer beware , check out your seller. I have rented a better place closer to the beach and the first question I asked the owner was is the place paid in full with no liens, yes was the answer and then to the clerk of court I went to make sure. Trust no one is my advise do your research especially in these hard economical times.

I don't know Larry...I might agree with Neil here, you may be going "soft". I'm afraid to buy your new book now, you might advise me buy my kid a lollipop after I yell at him to make him feel better about himself. LOL. There already is a tax credit for first time home buyers and other perks too. They can deduct almost EVERY expense associated ... Read Morewith buying, closing and moving...so that's a tax credit of money they put in. And there are lower down payment FHA loans for first time home buyers with PMI in case of default...everyone's covered in those situations and the home buyer had to come up with their own dough. I think the cash for clunkers program proves why we don't want government run programs like this...they are incompentent - period. CFC cost us the tax payers approx $25K per car...that is why these programs are bad...the idea isn't necessarily bad for a time, but contrary to what you said Larry, the government is incapable of correctly running anything like this, thus it is more waste than good. Besides, you are your own damn fault, if you want a house, get a second job, don't use credit and save your money until you can afford to be a homeowner!!!!! ***wink***

sad that so many people struggle (or not) with foreclosure, and a show will only devote 5 minutes to the subject. With 5 participants trying to get their opinion in, that's just barely a minute per guest. It's no wonder people do stupid things. They get 60 second advice! Larry, you need to get back on a 30 minute show!
