As members know, the OMTA has undertaken an
extensive effort to ensure that Members of Provincial Parliament and
the Government of Ontario are aware of the impact of the proposed
Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) on the massage therapy profession. To-date,
we have communicated not only with the Premier, Members of Cabinet and
Memb...ers of the Government but also with members of the Opposition
Parties. All of this work and the work that OMTA members have
undertaken with us is working.
We are pleased to announce that
the OMTA has been granted the opportunity to present our position to
the Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs on Monday
December 7, 2009. This Committee is holding public hearings on the
proposed legislation to implement the harmonized sales tax.

Starting January 1st, Shirlene Johnston rmt will be joining me at the Barrett Massage Therapy Clinic. Shirlene will be working part time to help me out. Her approach to treatment, experience & depth are similar to mine...although we are total physical opposites.
