The Foundation for Living Beauty

On Sunday, June 14, 2009, model, beauty brand entrepreneur and philanthropist Dena Cali, Closer actress and event hostess Gina Ravera, along with recording artist Kelly Price, television host Ananda Lewis, and actor Brian White; cancer survivors, supporters, and more than 200 guests attended the Gift Your Inner Goddess... spa event to raise funds for women living with cancer. Hosted at the Odyssey Medi Spa in Marina Del Rey, attendees enjoyed cocktails by Sparkling Nuvo, music by DJ Dinari, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction and chic shopping at the spa's boutique. More than $12,000 was raised to benefit The Foundation for Living Beauty (FFLB) and it’s upcoming Goddess Wellness retreat taking place this July; which will fully sponsor 20 women living with cancer, or recent cancer survivors, on a four-day holistic wellness retreat. The FFLB, a non-profit organization was founded by Cali in 2005 and is dedicated to empowering women living with cancer. On Saturday, May 18, 2008 The FFLB held its second annual fine arts fundraiser Lineage Live performed by The Lineage Dance Company. Lineage Live was an exciting first time collaboration with a world class assemble group of musicians who performed live to choreography especially designed for each piece of music while co...ntemporary dancers performed on stage.

In addition to the marvelous performance, guests of Lineage Live benefiting the Foundation for Living Beauty enjoyed a private cocktail reception while shopping at the chic silent auction.

On February 25th 2008 The FFLB hosted an uplifting day of makeovers, personal style and wig consultations and photo shoots for our courageous Living Beauties at Aya Salon in Santa Monica. Expert photographers, aestheticians, make-up artists and stylists in the fashion and beauty industries volunteered to conduct photo... shoots and for 25 our Living Beauties. Each of our Living Beauties who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy received a personal consultation with our Founder Dena Cali and received a complementary wig to suit her personal needs to take home. Our Living Beauties also received her own photography session donated by photographer Rayne Roberts and an array of prints from her day of beauty.

2009 Living Beauty Wellness Retreat will be sponsored by Kaiser Permanente

In the fall of 2007, The Foundation for Living Beauty (FFLB) hosted the first annual "Living Beauty Wellness Retreat" on September 26-30. Located in tranquil Weldon, CA - three-hours north of LA and minutes from Sequoia National Forest - the ev...ent was a five day journey into rejuvenating the mind, body and spirit of 25 brave women afflicted with cancer.

World-renowned experts, celebrities, and other caring volunteers donated time and money for the fully-sponsored event, which offered such services as: massages/sauna, beauty treatments, customized healthy menus, lifestyle consults, meditation, love & support groups, yoga, art therapy, Sequoia Nat'l Forest day trip, and nature walks.

"The Living Beauty Wellness Retreat" is truly unique and addresses the inner and outer beauty needs of cancer victims that are so often overlooked. The next retreat is scheduled for Summer 2009 and is sponsored this year by Kaiser Permanente.
