I agree, the GO train is a hit in Barrie, thanks to the hard work of Aileen Carroll.

Sorry to burst the bubble of the Pro-Liberal people posting here, however, Aileen Carroll had zero to do with the GO Train coming to Barrie. Former Tory MPP Joe Tanscona, from the Simcoe riding worked extremely hard bringing the GO Train to Barrie. Unfortunately, Tanscona was defeated in the provincial election and Aileen Carroll got the photo op... Read More.

As for whether Aileen Carroll will actually do anything for this riding remains to be seen. As Minister of International Cooperation while serving federally, she remained on vacation while Indonesia was severely damaged and thousands were killed when the Tsunami hit several years ago. She did not return from vacation to see how the Ministry of International Cooperation could help a foreign country. Disgusting really.

I also must comment on the pathetic election ploys used by the Liberals. From the Liberal party asking the media to not report on the fact Dion had no answer for how he would have prevented economic difficulties hitting Canada during a period of world economic turmoil; to the mailers being sent out from Liberal candidates asking people to not vote for their candidate of choice (NDP or Green) but to vote Liberal just to stop the Conservatives. That is Pathetic.

Well Corby, no point in continuing a discussion with you as we will have obvious different viewpoints. I will address your comments as you like to put words in my mouth which I did not say. If the Federal Conservatives have contributed money to the Barrie GO station or the parking facilities then, like it or not, Patrick Brown and the ... Read MoreConservatives did contribute. End of discussion.

As for the Tory minister making inappropriate comments about Listeria deaths, Yes that was inappropriate. However, I am not "even more appalled" by the death of several Canadians when compared to the death of hundreds of thousands of people when the Tsunami struck. A Federal Minister choosing to stay on vacation and ignore the death of hundreds of thousands of people plus the destruction of a large portion of several countries, should make people consider her suitability as a member of parliament.

Well Corby, reply if you feel it is necessary but this is my last post directed to you.
