Thank you for sharing the story about your firefly friend. It has been five years since my beloved firefly passed. She was my maternal grandmother. Her name was Esther. When my grandfather passed she didn't like to stay alone and there were six children in my family. I was trying to keep this short. I stayed with her from the age of 13... See More til 18yrs. old so we became very close. When I married at 18 and had children we stayed close. She was an awesome grandma. She never forgot our birthday's or Christmas. We went grocery shopping and I visited every Sat am and any other morning I could be there. She was there for grads, plays and etc. The list is longer than I can list here. My mom and Grandma were close too. My mom and I still miss her and the pain is only slightly less because I know she is in heaven. I want to be a firefly to my grandchildren when they come. I live in Southern California, but drove to Spokane to take my youngest daughter to WOF. It was her first time and we made a wonderful weekend of it...staying in a B&B etc. She lives on a farm and works so hard...she and her husband are raising their two beautiful grandchildren...so I wanted it to be a special time for her. This was the best year...thank you all of you Porch Pals! You inspire me to keep "living the life out of every day"! Luci is just 3 years older than I and I feel she paves the way ahead for me!
