Kristin

Kristin My most challenging project was my first (and only so far) sweater, a zippered cable hoodie. First, trying to translate the pattern on index cards - took me an entire day. Then, the finishing. Took 3 tries to get the zipper right and the sleeves were ridiculously enormous. I ended up having my mom fix the sleeves ...with the sewing machine. It's pretty cute though. The actual knitting was a breeze.

Teri Low Keller

Teri Low Keller I'm working on it now; a very cabled vest for my daughter in grey and I have to keep watching it to make sure I'm doing the cables in the right way! I've never made so many cables before!

Ruth Cutter Black

Ruth Cutter Black My most challenging project was knitting and felting 2 tote bags (1 for my daughter and 1 for my daughter-in-law) as Christmas presents... the same year! Finish measurements were 12" by 15" and they came out beautifully! I had a top loader washing machine to use at that time and now have a front loader, so will be difficult to felt anything large.

Elaine Howes

Elaine Howes My cousin had been trying for 2 years to get pregnant. I promised her that I would knit a sweater and crochet a blanket for the baby, whenever she got pregnant. She ended up pregnant with TRIPLETS. I stuck to my word and made her 3 sweaters and 3 blankets. This was my most challenging project(s) to date, since I ha...d to get them all done and mailed to Texas before the babies were born! (I'm happy to report that the babies are all beautiful, healthy 13-month-olds now and I did manage to get them there within a week of their births!)

Lynn Harter Robbins

Lynn Harter Robbins I was a freshman in High School and decided to crochet a mini dress
(this was 1970) to wear on a field trip to a Broadway play. I was
confronted with stitches I'd never seen before, and then ran out of
yarn! I made Mom take me back to Sears(!) to buy more, only to discover
the dye lot was different - a lesson was learned t...hat day. Finished the

the night before the field trip and wore it to school the next day. My
math teacher told me that dress would fetch a lot of money in a retail
store. I was a very proud 14 year old!

Marianne Keaney Stevens

Marianne Keaney Stevens My most challenging project was finishing this sweater. I'm fine at knitting but the finishing work is tough. I think it came out okay.

Shelle

Shelle My most challenging project was to create a knitted version of my Shawler - a hooded shawl with sleeves. I love the end result! It was worth the effort. :D

Kelly

Kelly The most challenging thing I've ever done to finish my knitting was to add a zipper to this sweater for my cousin's baby. It drives me nuts when buttons pop open or stretch hand knitted baby clothes, and I hate to sew, but I cursed and cried my way through it and now the sweater is AWESOME!

Virginia Voelker

Virginia Voelker Made this pouch out of yarn I got from a Patternworks grab bag. Got two skiens of it in two different bags. Thought at the time it was kind of ugly. Used it to mark some croquet wickets we couldn't see. Made some provisional cast ons. Then finally got inspired. I think this turned out really well, and not at all ugly. Go figure.

Jennifer Painter

Jennifer Painter I have been trying to make my 1st pair of socks for the past 3 years! When I get frustrated or too bored, I put them down & work on a different project. I also work on them in between projects. I know I'll finish them eventually, but I'm in no rush!
