Paul Taylor’s 131st dance, “Brief Encounters,” had its world premiere in Syracuse on Friday night. The New York Times says, “The dancers, beautifully adult and near naked in trim black underwear (by Santo Loquasto), passed through transient scenes of sexual desire, emotional perplexity and more…. I wanted “Brief Encoun...ters” to last twice as long; certainly I am impatient to see it a second time…. An essay in the very stuff of theater poetry.” Catch it at New York City Center (nycitycenter.org).Read More

Paul Taylor Dance Company "Began work on a new dance Monday... No. 131. The first day back in the studio is always exciting. I'm revisiting music by Debussy that I first used 32 years ago in the original piano version, but this time for full symphony orchestra. Challenge is to find a whole new approach. Having a wonderful group of dancers helps!"
