Paving Paradise Dr. Christopher Meindl's class on wetlands policy at the University of South Florida-St. Petersburg hold up their copies of "Paving Paradise." It was the scariest audience yet because everyone had already read the book & turned in a two-page outline! They were nice about it, though -- nobody dozed off during the Powerpoint and afterward they asked some sharp questions.

Paving Paradise After hearing Craig and Matt speak to the Suncoast League of Cities earlier this year, city leaders in South Pasadena invited the "Paving Paradise" authors to take part in their Cultural Arts Council program. Craig will speak on "Paving Paradise" and sign books. The meeting is at City Hall, 7047 Sunset Drive South, South Pasadena FL 33707.

Paving Paradise Just a quick reminder folks: Craig will be speaking and signing books at the monthly meeting of the Tampa Bay Sea Kayakers Club at Bill Jackson's shop in Pinellas Park at 7 p.m. Take a kayak, a canoe, a car -- but get there!

Paving Paradise While at the Society of Environmental Journalists' conference in Madison, Wisc., I served on a panel with Dr. Joy Zedler, who led the National Research Council that produced the report on the nation's wetlands that led to our book. She asked for -- and got -- an autographed copy.

Paving Paradise This isn't an official "Paving Paradise" event, but if you happen to be at the Society of Environmental Journalists' conference in chilly Madison, Wisc., this weekend, be sure to stop by the Clean Water Act panel discussion Saturday morning moderated by one Craig Pittman. It starts at 9 a.m., or whenever everyone's brains get unfrozen.
