Hi everyone! The shelter is closed today and also closed tomorrow for Thanksgiving. Two of us will be there walking the dogs tomorrow afternoon (rain or snow) from 2 until as long as it takes to get them all out for a while. I have a headlamp I can wear to walk them in the dark if needed...

Tracey Wojciechowski Neblett sent us an update on Shallia, one of the dogs she drove to a rescue in Wisconsin. Thanks Tracey!
Shallia was the beautiful white shepherd that was picked up as a stray. She was timid and fearful when she came in, but really started doing well at the shelter. From the Heart Rescue in Wisco...nsin (a new rescue that works with Rescue a German Shepherd-who rescued Madison) agreed to work with Shallia (now called Shay) and they are fostering her until she finds a forever home. She has five fenced acres to run in, gets along really well with the other dogs, is happy and having a really good time!

Paw Pals of Clinton County Humane Society Pint-Sized is currently in a foster home. Her two brothers were adopted from the shelter today, and poor Pint-Sized was left behind all by herself. She cried and cried. Her foster family is giving her the love and attention she deserves while she waits for her forever home. Please e-mail her foster family at plough...e@geetel.net if you would like to meet this great little girl!

Rick and Beverly Ploughe shared this update and picture with us.
This is Lacy. We adopted her from CCHS 3 years ago. She was 9 years old when her former "family" left her at the shelter. She was heartworm positive, and we successfully got her through treatment thanks to Paw Pals. This past spring, we found out she is di...abetic. She is on insulin twice a day and has lost 22 pounds since her diagnosis. She is still going strong (although she is starting to slow down a bit), and thoroughly enjoys getting outside several times a day for supervised walks without a leash. We suspect she had been on a chain for her first 9 years, so she is extremely grateful for the freedoms we give her. This is her today. We can't imagine life without her.

Paw Pals of Clinton County Humane Society OUR CATS ARE DESPERATELY IN NEED OF HOMES! Clinton County Humane Society is maxed out with beautiful cats- many who are spayed/neutered and available for $10 adoption fee. Please help spread the word to come adopt. Cats in our shelter currently only have a 1 in 12 chance of being adopted.

Payton (formerly Peanut) was adopted 3 years ago this December. Totally adorable. She has moments of stupidity that make us shake our head in disbelief-but she has completely stolen our hearts.
She is never far from her blanket ♥

A Successful Day at Critterfest!
Lou finds his forever friend at Critterfest in Lafayette. Abby, a young husky mix, who was found as a stray was lucky enough to be adopted by Lou and his wife. Paw Pals volunteers felt fortunate to have four adoptions as a result of this off-site adoption. Three dogs and one cat now have a place of their own to call home.

Wiley is doing well in Canada!
Peter Laferte from Windsor, Ontario sent us this update on Wiley. He was briefly named Alex when he was first adopted, and was Mick during his short stay at our shelter.
This dog is living the good life in Canada with his buddy Finnagan. It's been a couple of months since the trip to Indi...ana to pick him up, and I would do it again. Such an affectionate dog with a lot of energy. Thanks again !

Deb Gunyon recently made a donation to CCHS through Kramer Lumber in memory of Simon, her constant companion for the last 10 years. The picture is of Simon in his beloved woods. Deb also shared this story with us.
Simon was a very special dog. When he was about 2 years old, he raised four kittens. Someone dumped thes...e kittens that did not even have thier eyes opened. We were on a walk and he insisted on going into this bean field. I didn't hear their cries, but he did. I bottle fed them and he took the role of mommy, lol. He licked them after bottle feedings, and after they started to grow, he would gently pick them up and put them in the box when they were old enough to climb out. He laid by the box until they were old enough to find homes. He was a very generous and loving dog in every way.
