PeaZip 2.8 was released today, implementing a more user-friendly archive/file browser, improved job scheduler, improved navigation menu (which is available also in archiving/extraction interfaces), archive conversion feature and many more updates.

PeaZip 2.8.beta is currently being developed, and it is scheduled to be released in November 2009.
2.8 line is focused on providing a more user-friendly archive/file browser: easier file selection (optional row selection), custom icons for most commons file types, display as detailed view or list view, remember sorting ...column and sorting order, remember columns widths etc...

The project was compiled with new Lazarus 0.9.28 and contains updated Pea 0.28, the component which performs pea/unpea, split/join files, hashes, secure deletion and many other features.

PeaZip 2.5.1, open source file and archive manager, was released earlier today.
Current release comes with up to date localizations and contains several UI improvements, like support for compressed themes and auto-refresh when folder's content changes or new units are mounted or unmounted.
Backends were updated with 7z/p...7zip 4.65 and it is now possible to create solid 7z archives with grouping for file extension.
81 archive types are handled by the current version of the program.
