The University of Wisconsin-Madison is no stranger to political rallies, war protests, and other forms of public assembly. Rarely, however, is the campus used as a stage for unity, bringing together the university and community, conservatives and liberals, the r...eligious and non-religious, athletes, artists, and academics. Peace Day @ UW aims to do just that.
Following a brief introduction by a member of the Peace Day @ UW Committee, a moment of silence will be held to honor all who have lost their lives to armed conflict in the world. The ringing of the Music Hall bells will break the silence.
Award-winning UW Professor Howard Schweber will then keynote the rally.
Participating organizations include: College Democrats, Students for McCain, Hillel, and more!
