Wow....I want to learn more...my partner Ed loves Pelicans (Brown Pelicans) and this would be an excellent tangent on the same name, but different category...he is a long time career Navy member and we are here in Pensacola just loving it! I never knew about this ......great history!

If its from lake michigan, then it flew from the Sable or the Wolverine, most likely the Wolverine, in which SBDs, F6Fs, F4Us, and TBMs possibly flew from. the Wolverine and the Sable were bases at Chicago's Navy Pier
