Pet Assistance Network **URGENT** Greenbrier, TN - OWNER ABANDONED HIM **Please call animal control ASAP!!! 615-643-1003*** Murphy and his Weim brother (who was adopted) came into Animal Control when their owner moved off and left them. They had to stay at the shelter until the owner could be found sign a release form... So this poor fella h...as not only been at the shelter awhile, now he's been without his buddy for about a week. This cutie is about 35lbs and seems very friendly with other dogs and did not react to the cats while running around the shelter (although curious). Now Murphy desperately needs a place to go SOON!!!

The Spay/Neuter Meeting in Memphis was held last night. Here is a news article detailing what went on in that meeting.
Opponents of the spay neuter ordinance were very few and far between and in my opinion voiced weak opinions. I think all of us who wanted to speak in support of the ordinance got our chance and everyon...e voiced strong, convincing arguments. We are having our very first garage... sale on Saturday March 27th at the home of one of our foster/volunteers (Suzanne Vilardi) who lives close to PV mall. We are looking for people to donate things for the garage sale and to volunteer to work that morning. Suzanne Vilardi is making breakfast for the volunteers so you are in for a treat. Pet Assistance Network I've talked to a volunteer pilot thru Pilots n Paws who can bring her to Nashville on Sunday (weather permitting). So, now I just need to find her a place to stay until then. She has until tomorrow (Sat) to be out of the shelter, but if we could get her out today or tomorrow and find someone to foster her until Sunday,... that is the last piece to the puzzle. Can anyone help with fostering for 1-2 nights? Obviously, I'd love to get her out of there today, but if we must wait until tomorrow, that would be okay. I just hate leaving her in there longer than necessary.Thanks again!

Rom-Ger-Am Rottweiler Rescue: Come join us Friday March 12, 2010 at 10:00pm for the Rock the Rots Benefit show. Show Line-up will include Verity's Lie, Sebak!, and Retrofitter. $5.00 cover charge with all proceeds benefiting the Rom-Ger-Am Rottweiler Rescue, Inc. Food Bank.
Due to financial hardship many people are tur...ning their dogs into shelter, because they can not afford to feed their dogs. Some of these dogs may find a home , but many will not find a home, or worse will be put down. The Rom-Ger-Am Rottweiler Rescue, Inc. Has put together a food bank to help these people in need. For ever two dollar raised at this event we will be able to supply one bag of dog food to a family in need. Please help us save these dogs lives.
A Special thank goes out to the member of Retrofitter, Sebak!, and Verity's Lie, for donating their time and talents to make this show a possibility.

IF you truly care about your pet and truly cannot keep it, please ask us to help network and find a home for him/her! DO NOT surrender or abandon them or this is his/her fate!!! Please, for the sake of your beloved family members, DO NOT bury your head in the sand about this issue of shelter overcrowding. Owner Surrenders are often euthanized the same day they come in!!! Please think twice, even three and four times, before dumping your animal at the shelter!
