Keep plugging away, it's worth the journey! Josh Calvert RULES... and if you haven't read it Fallen Dragon is a one volume epic that in my opinion might even be better than Night's Dawn

The Reality Disfunction Series and related books are some of the biggest, most epic I have ever read in SciFi. Incredible broadness, and plotlines that you never expect to come together do in the end. The scope of this series, and the quality of your other books are excellent. This may all sound like a huge suck up, bu...t I don't give hollow compliments. I agree with Ganthet, I'd love to see these books made into a Cable (needs to be to be true to the gritty elements) or a series of movies. For me, Hamilton is neck and neck with Clarke, Asimov, Pohl, Bear, Sheffield, etc, and in many ways surpass a lot of their works.Read More

I discovered Hamilton by chance in a Berlin Bookstore in 2001. The first book in the Nights Dawn Trilogy was the only thing in English on the shelves in the Sci-Fi Section that I hadn't read already and wasn't "book 3 of 5" of some series. I bought it on a whim and became hooked on his imagination. I've since read ever...ything he's every written, including his short stories, and I eagerly await every new work. I've given his books to friends as birthday gifts to introduce them to his wonderful worlds. I'd love to see the Night's Dawn Triology turned into a gritty series on something like Showtime, where all the true details could be depicted.Read More

Michael C Crowley

Michael C Crowley ok I love Pandora's Star and Judas Unchained, but what do people think of the following statement...
the worlds and characters that PFH has created are amazing. But I honestly enjoyed the characters and their individuals plots more interesting that the whole war storyline. I could read about Ozzy and Paula Myo forever

Paula has massive potential for her own storylines. One could easily be created before the Starflyer War. Perhaps an origin of some sort.

Shawn Christopher Oliver We have to make a movie of Pandora's Star. It is essential.

Well we could do an HBO quality mini series.

A mini series on HBO or Sci-fi network would be great. The chapters break down to episodes nicely. I would say the two books would make a nice 3 season series, like BSG.

i'm going through a MASSIVE PFH stage. I read pandora's star and judas unchained last year, then fallen dragon and misspent youth this year and a second chance at eden, and just finnished reading the night's dawn trilogy and it was brilliant! I've tried reading other books since then...romance, thriller, crime...I coul...dn't even get past ten pages. so I had to give in and am currently reading the dreaming void.

woe is me!! =)

He isn't british, but Neal Stephenson should be on the short list of writers to try. I suggest Snow Crash and Cryptonomicon.

The mark of a great SF writer is whether they can imagine a whole 'new universe' and also make it work. Iain Banks is an acclaimed master of this.

However, I recently finished The Temporal Void and its forerunner, The Dreaming Void, and if you have read these yourself, you will notice that Hamilton has imagined 'two new... universes', and guess what, they both work. And perfectly! Now that is pretty astounding.

Can't wait for the next in the series, but please speed up the paperback version. Hardbacks just don't fit properly on my book-shelf!
