But Roskam and Kirk’s ambition is tempered by the political reality that some Democrats in Springfield and Washington oppose a special election that could lead to a Republican victory. “There is not a special election scheduled and the reason for that is that the Democratic party and their leadership in Springfield put their party before their state and before their country,” said Roskam.

If the whole group is high-risk, all will pay much higher premiums. If the group includes both, the risk pool tends to even out and the ... Read Moreoverall risk profile of the group is lower, thus, less expensive. Young, healthy people are always going to have the lowest premiums. They will be insured and no longer have the risk of getting sick with no coverage. It would be irresponsible for a person to choose not to be insured when it is available and inexpensive and when the end result is that we all pay for his/her care through higher premiums and/or higher taxes if/when they get sick. It is ok for a person to take risks when it doesn't impact other people. When it does, taking risks can be disastrous--think AIG. A few people took risks for their own personal gain and almost destroyed the economy in the process.

DO NOT support the health care bill. NO ONE even knows what is in the thing! NO one has had time to read it or understand it. The government has NO business in Health care! Why would ANY ONE want the Government to regulate your doctors/medial care. They couldn't even get the H1N1 vaccines done right. Do you want to be waiting in lines that long for routine care.......I know I don't!

@Mark, you are right. The Republican party in Illinois is no different than Democrat party. @Debbie, I have the same question for Peter. I have been a supporter of Peter since his first election, but his actions of late are making me wonder what his true feelings are. I also want to know who Peter supports in the 23rd district of NY -- I haven't heard, but I hope it's for Hoffman.
