Public History at Temple University It's official--the Temple U Board of Trustees has approved the optional concentration in Public History for the MA in History!! That means from now on all MA Public History students will graduate with "Public History" on their transcripts. Dr. William Turkel (U of Western Ontario) will appear at two events on April 22. Turkel works at the leading edge of public and digital history and has earned notoriety for a number of innovative projects that you can learn about at http://history.uwo.ca/faculty/turkel/. An informal workshop is scheduled for noon in ...the History Department's Weigley Room (Gladfelter 914) during which Turkel will help participants explore the digital possibilities in their own research and/or teaching. He will also deliver a talk titled "Public History and the Infinite Archive" at 3:30 in the Paley Library Lecture Hall. These events are co-sponsored by the American Studies Program, the History Department, the Center for the Humanities at Temple, Paley Library, the American Philosophical Society, and the Temple University Lectures and Forums Committee.
