University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy & Practice This week, Matt Graber, an SP2 student, will be collecting shoe boxes until Saturday 9/26. They can be dropped off at the SP2 student lounge on the 2nd floor of the Caster Bldg. So, why is Matt collecting shoe boxes?? Once they're collected -- he's planning on decorating them Saturday afternoon at 4 in the student lou...nge (and, of course, you're welcome to join him...to help decorate)... then, these shoeboxes will be put in places all over campus. Anyone with an old cell phone can drop off their old/used cellphones inside these shoeboxes. Every cell phone that's donated brings a monetary donation to The Evelyn Jacobs Ortner Center on Family Violence & Penn's Public Safety. http://www.sp2.upenn.edu/ortner/

Orneice Leslie was an amazing woman and the best professor I ever had in any college or grad school course-her legacy will be that of the social worker educator who taught that there is no place in this world for any prejudice, stereotype or isms at all.....

Dean Gelles . . .you must recall, from your days at URI, the term "familicide" had a whole different meaning on Federal Hill . . .or maybe not?
