On August 25, 2009, UESF presented testimony to the Department of Public Welfare for the State of Pennsylvania regarding the State Plan for LIHEAP FY2010. There are significant changes proposed to the program providing energy assistance to many low-income families in Philadelphia and throughout Pennsylvania.

On April 25, UESF took part in the Ogontz Avenue Revitalization Corporation (OARC)’s Energy Saving Block Party. Joined by program partners Home Depot, PECO, the Philadelphia Water Department, PGW, ECA, Foundations, Inc and the students from Martin Luther King Jr. High School, residents of the 1500 block of Orland Stree...t were given many tips to conserve energy and weatherize their homes.
