The French politician and author Raymond Abellio could be one of modern history’s most enigmatic characters… if his career and reputation were known outside of France, where he is largely an unknown entity.

Philip Coppens Interesting information on DUNE, a film/TV series discussed on my website, http://www.philipcoppens.com/dune.html

Those who are familiar with Frank Herbert's famous novel Dune know that he took his analogy from the oil of the Middle East, and that the novel is symbolic about the dependance of the West on the oil, and the power struggles to control this valuable resource.

Philip Coppens is unhappy about the fact he knows several people who are now fearful of the future, because of the 2012 movie.

It is specifically children that are questioning whether we are going to die. I've noticed this in my own circle of friends and family, as well as from newspaper reports about what is bein sent in to scientists, etc.
As to Botkin's quote: did he quote historical examples? For there are several other examples where fear has simply paralysed, and nothing happened as a result.

When I read Daniel Pinchbeck's "2012," I sent him a message saying the kids' reactions were my biggest concern, too. That was early in 2008. It's been two years of 'learning' and a lot of Twitter & blog comment posting to people like Ian O'Neill at Discovery Space or Alan Boyle at MSNBC Space to remind them to be aware of what kids are picking up on. Just 'gentle reminders' so far...no hammering yet : ) Probably time to move onto Oprah about it before it gets too out of hand.

Mass suicide in the Mayan city of Tikal, Guatemala. Killer solar rays that will erupt and heat the Earth’s core, resulting in a shift of the tectonic plates. This somehow linked with the galactic alignment of the Earth, the sun and the centre of our galaxy. ...

This backlash is interesting. Up until Sunday night the footage from J. Ronson's original documentary film, Crazy Rulers of the World was available on youtube. It's been expunged. There is still this clip on Peter Brussa's account. Watch and judge for yourself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msVWf1qTNLA
