Scott Tattar Is $200 for a Row 5 seat @ The Liacorus Center for the Hopkins bout a fair price? is Row 5 actually ringside?

Fair? That's up to you. Big title fights usually cost much more. Row 5 means that it's in the 5th row of the seats for sale. There will be a gated ringside section in front of Row 1 of that section containing the press, the commission, etc. Row five is close though. In general try to get as close to the center of the section, as opposed to the corners. Sometimes the corner pads can obstruct the view a little.

The face and physique belong to a seasoned fighter. Arms and shoulders bulge with muscles. And the face carries the puffy eyes earned in the boxing ring's school of hard knocks.

Fats Gary was one of the great characters in Philly boxing history. You can find him in the "non-boxers" section of the web site.

On this day in 1961, the Blue Horizon debuted as a boxing venue with a fight-card promoted by Steve Tomassi and headlined by George Benton. Benton won the bout - a 3rd round KO over Chico Corsey - and the Blue Horizon went on to become one of the great boxing clubs in the country.

Philly Boxing History The Joey Giardello Statue Project is moving right along. This week, artist Carl LeVotch revealed his work-in-progress full-sized version of the former middleweight champion at his makeshift studio in the attic of the Veteran Boxers Club. Although the statue is far from complete, the work is stunning. LeVotch is on sche...dule to finish sculpting by the end of 2009. The mold-making and bronze casting phase will follow and is expected to wrap in time for a May 2010 unveiling. There is no doubt that this project will make Philly proud and produce a great a great tribute to Giardello and the city's storied boxing history.

Hollyweird director, Norman Jewison is despicable human being for inaccurately showing Joey Giardello getting beat by Hurricane Carter. In reality, Joey G.won a unanimous decision. Some people will do anything for money!
