With 85mg daily -it's more likely risk vs benefit and benefits usually outweigh risks.
Take a look at Ibuprofen-unless you're following neurological guidelines and are prophylactically acting against inflammatory component of Alzheimer's dementia, side effects are pretty serious! But,if you do have genetic susceptibility -400mg ibuprofen daily is MUCH better although you may develop ulcer or chronic nephritis or even renal failure ...So it's this or that..

For that mater-take H1N1 vaccine into consideration?Should we be vaccinating young children at this point with a vaccine known to contain Mercury(thimerosol) and toxic squalene and worry about Sclerosis Multiplex and autism later?
But then again-if a young child gets the virus it is likely to end deleteriously...
So what would you all do?

Physician's First Watch The first batch of H1N1 vaccine is being shipped to providers this week. Are you being inundated with questions? What are patients' most common concerns?

Ordering the vaccine is a nightmare when you don't know how many patients want it or how many each doc will be able to order. We have 10,000 active patients with 8 docs- do we order 10,000, 5,000, 500???? At least it is free so if we over-order there is no financial penalty but are there "more worthy" practices that will not get it?
And to make matters worse, the Illinois Dept of Public Health fax ordering system must have one fax machine- hours of trying and busy every time!

1. is it safe?
2. why am i not getting it first? i have (fill in the blank) and need it.
3. why won't you have it this week?
(IM triage rn)
i am surprised how many well educated people out there are not getting it but think seasonal flu vaccine is somehow safer or different.
