Smoky Mountain Christian Village PEACE - Day 2. I recently received a greeting from a friend that had the following salutation: "Praying for Peace." I wondered if we are to pray for peace? This series comes from the answer to my question. Yes, we are to pray for peace and we need to understand that peace is strongly attached to prayer in the Bible.... Please join me in this series I have entitled: "Praying for Peace."

Smoky Mountain Christian Village PEACE - Day 1. One of the most common expressions found on Christmas cards is "Peace On Earth." This phrase is biblical. Found in Luke 2:14, the angels declared, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." In the context, the peace promised is not given universally to men who possess g...ood will toward God but individually to men who are the recipients of His favor and grace.

Smoky Mountain Christian Village HOPE - Day 13. Our Confidence of Hope is not only a possession, and a power, but it is found in a PERSON. That person is Jesus Christ! He is our Hope of Glory. He is the high priest which entereth into that within the vail (vss. 19-20). Jesus has already entered into the presence of God and assures us of our entra...nce into heaven as well. Praise the Lord my hope cannot fail, fade, fall, or faint.

Smoky Mountain Christian Village HOPE - Day 12. Our confidence of hope is not only because it is a possession but also because of it's POWER. Note that Heb.. 6:19 says, "Which hope we have an an anchor of the soul. Two things about that anchor - it is secure (sure) and it is steadfast. This shows the internal and external power of hope. Our hope ...is internal because of Christ and cannot be moved (external) because of Christ.

Smoky Mountain Christian Village HOPE - Day 11. To date, we have looked at the Classification of Hope and the Confirmation of Hope. Today - the CONFIDENCE of hope. Heb. 6:19-20 is our text. Notice that we have the confidence of hope because it is a possession. "we have" is herein described concerning hope. We didn't earn it, we don't deserve it..., but it is ours! We have hope in the deepest valley on the darkest day for the drama of any hour.

Smoky Mountain Christian Village HOPE - Day 10. The third and final confirmation of hope found in Heb. 6:13-18 is God's Pledge. How do I know I have the Hope of Glory? Because God promised it! If God said it, that settles it for all eternity; whether you believe it or not. As we look forward to a New Year, we who have Christ have hope. Verse 18 ...speaks of that hopw and it rests on the oath of God. WOW!

The four winners for our Pay-It-Forward giveaway of a Christmas Family Vacation have been selected. And the winners are Rachel Hammons, Dewayne Howard, John Blickenstaff and Travis and Ben Herd...

Smoky Mountain Christian Village John and Paul wrote "All you need is love." I am not referring to the apostles, but rather the Beatles! They were right. On the third Sunday of Advent our attention turns to the subject of love. We are reminded in God's word that we have the ability to love because He first loved us. The expression of that love was rev...ealed in a Bethlehem cattle stall 2000 years ago. It is up to you and me to share that love.

Smoky Mountain Christian Village HOPE - Day 9. The second connfirmation of hope in Heb. 6:13-20, is God's Purpose. The Abrahamic Covenant was unconditional! God determined to give the promised land to Abraham (Jews) and deliver the Messiah through his seed. So to is our hope unconditional. God's promise, the hope of glory is ours regardless of our... past and in spite of our present; all according to God's divine purpose.

Smoky Mountain Christian Village HOPE - Day 8. The first confirmation of hope in Heb. 6:13-20, is God's Person. When God makes a promise, He keeps a promise. We can count on it, take it to the bank, and know beyond all doubt that it is already ours! The name of God used in Heb. 13:1 is the primary name: Elohim. This speaks of the God of Power, P...romise, and Possession. God's power, promise, and possession of hope comes to us through His Son!
