Rebel Ceramicos

Rebel Ceramicos Hi, check out our group page - Revolutionary Ceramicos.
We are agroup of emerging artists from Northern NSW Australia.
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Revolutionary-Ceramicos/181539827031

Revolutionary Ceramicos Artists work together in the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales, Australia to promote a genuine love of ceramics in all its forms. With techniques and glazes that cover a broad range of the ceramic spectrum there are always new and exciting... pieces coming out of the kiln. If you live in our area or are just visiting, check out our events page. Here you can find out where we are currently exhibiting and find ceramic pieces that will excite and inspire you. Drop into our next event and say Hi. We’d love to meet you. If you find your special piece on the website please email us at: revolutionaryceramicos@gmail.com to enquire about price and availability. While each artist has a range of depth and experience in many different styles of ceramics, artists are presently pursuing the following interests. Cass - Symbolism of ancient form and the strength of women resonate in Cass’s Latest works of art. Ceramic figures & totems are designed to complement the natural environment. Cass specialises in large piece garden art with symbolic representations. Clare - Clay and Glaze come together to form classic Australian ways of life and forms of transportation. From Byron Bay Kombi vans to country trucks complete with cattle dogs ready to round up the herds, these pieces are at home in any Australian country garden. In contrast to her Australiana range Clare’s love of geometrical design has produced pieces that are perfect for any contemporary setting. Check out her photo album. Kay - Kay’s love of Australian Flora and Fauna is reflected in pieces that capture kookaburras hanging from tree branches and possums peeking through bushes. Snakes wind their way through forest representations and Kay’s pieces suit any natural indoor or outdoor setting. Working mostly with underglazes and earthernware Kay also has an elegant range of patterned and ornamental pieces to complement any elegant interior. Regi - Presently, Regi is enjoying delving into Ancient Minoan culture and design and excels in hand coiled vessels that suit any terracotta Tuscan style of decoration. Her treasured carved spheres make beautiful tokens of love for very special people. Debby - Exploring her love of slip trailing and tubelining has had Debby engrossed for the past 12 months. An 18th century technique with a 21st century twist results in raised outlines daring you to pick up the artwork and feel it’s every line and curve. Her best results are coming out of the kiln as pieces of unglazed porcelain. Delicate colours and textures quietly call to the feminine qualities within.

Mark, are you dry stacking all your brick?

Mark- a lot of it is dry stacked but I did use a lot of fireclay, sand mortar to try to keep the courses level. Also the hard bricks on the hotface didn't match up with the coldface insulators. so the mortar was needed to keep the header courses right. Overall, there is quite a bit of mortar in this kiln.
