OK...I don't truly understand why I am here or why I moved my hand on my mouse and clicked on "become a fan". Then I realized there was this yearning to understand something didactic in the meaning of Pinecones Under Glass. Could it simply mean on some existential level that we are ALL pinecones under glass?
Our culture... and our society forces us away from the natural order of things...hence the glass...we can see our nature, yet we cannot touch it. Our nature can see us and only observe our limited actions with empathy...??Read More

Lani

Lani As I was walking last night, I saw a falling star, and made a wish. A pinecone then fell on my head, and I stepped on a pile of broken glass. It had to be a sign that God was happy that I found "Pinecones Under Glass"!!

EXACTLY. In fact, it's almost impossible to clean a dusty pinecone without damaging it - one of the main reasons they should always be placed under protective glass!

Steve Dufour

Steve Dufour This is great. We had Montery pines along one side of our yard. Every year my dad cut off the top of one for a Christmas tree, with big cones attached.

Patricia L. Wilkes

Patricia L. Wilkes This is so cool...I live in a nice quiet ,tree lined Apartments that have pine trees with little pine cones that fall constantly. I love the aroma from the trees. Every month of December I make decorations out of them. Start collecting in October, and by the first of December I start working with them and give them away as gifts.

Bristlecone pines are very interesting...Some of them have been living for well over 5,000 years (as you probably already know). Just imagine...A single tree, alive throughout human history. When the pyramid of Giza was finished in 2500 BC, that tree was already thousands of years old. Mind boggling.
