Pink Heals Tour - Guardians of The Ribbon Just watched the movie Food Inc. for the third time in two weeks. If you get a chance please go out and rent or buy this movie. It really hits home, especially when we're out there supporting people who are battling cancer and other health related issues. If anything else it might help all of us just eat a little bit healthier.
Pink Heals Tour - Guardians of The Ribbon We are probably going to add Denver in the beginning of the tour, we just have to figure out when. We have about fifty drivers that have signed up to drive the trucks so it should be fun this year. Lisa and I are thinking about all the drivers having sweats, hats, shoes and even a custom made Pink Heals duffle bag. Team Pink Heals will be looking good this year.

Pink Heals Tour - Guardians of The Ribbon We are so fortunate that the Fire Departments realized that we need to support local charities within each of our Cities that provide support for these women. We wear the color pink in honor of our women, recognizing that they are the most important people in our communities. We are selflessly standing up to this Bully... (CANCER) in support of our women and children first.
Pink Heals Tour - Guardians of The Ribbon We will have four trucks on tour, with the fourth joining us probably in Washington DC, that would be "Ellen." coming all the way from New Hampshire. I want to say that Texas raised about $200,000, with about half of that going to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This is not just about Breast Cancer and one organizatio...n; this is a support effort for all women and their fight against cancer.
Pink Heals Tour - Guardians of The Ribbon Finished picking the Cities for the Tour; We are not going to make it to the far North East or the West Coast this year. We will have to start alternating some of the Cities so we can visit as many Cities as possible. Florida, Missouri and South Carolina Statewide, have adopted our program so we must focus some attention on these States this year.
Pink Heals Tour - Guardians of The Ribbon Here is a picture of "Tonya", our newest truck in the fleet. Tonya Malcolm was the wife of Wes Malcolm, a firefighter from Tyler TX. The truck was donated to us by the City of Tyler TX, so that we could share her story throughout the Country on our tour every year. Tonya passed away from a long battle with Cancer in 20...09, her story brought the community together to help more women with their fight against this deadly disease.
