Pride month is almost over, but I can't let it go by without some discussion of what's happened to all the LGBT heroes and villains in mainstream comics this year. Here's some updates on the major gay characters that had their lives changed for better or worse this year...

You guys may have noticed our, *ahem*, slower scheduling of posting lately. My apologies. It's something we've been needing to resolve and I'd been unable to devote much attention to it until now...

It's that time of the week again! Here's the rundown of notable comics for this week! Executive Assistant Iris #1...

Howdy folks, here's a quick peek at some of the more noteworthy or interesting books out this week! Red Robin #1 Following the aftermath of Battle For The Cowl, a new Batman watches over Gotham City. But not everyone is ready to give up on the old one...

This is seriously one of the best fan trailers I've ever seen. You can definitely pick out a lot of the movies they used, but it still looks insanely cool and makes me want to see it right now! On a more personal note, I'm clearly not dead...

Watch Why Wolverines Claws Suck on CollegeHumor While that pesky thing called real life kicks my ass at the moment, enjoy some humor and violence inspired by our favorite Canadian, Wolverine. (Sorry Alex Trebek, but it's true.)

When it rains, it pours! Newsarama has a nice preview of this weeks X-men #509, which continues the ongoing Northstar storyline and introduces Prop X, a proposed mutant birth-control ballot initiative that mirrors California's Prop 8, which banned gay marriage last year...

Minor technical issue over the weekend. So let's pretend it's still the end of the week and you're ready for the wrap-up from your friendly gator ally. Let's see what he has for us this week. __________ BAM! .....

There is a reason my degree is in writing and not math - numbers confuse the hell out of me. Call me illogical or just plain dumb, but you throw numbers at me and my brain shuts down out of sheer terror. Give me sentence and I'll diagram the hell out of it, though...

Is this week biting it hard for anyone else or is it just me? Maybe some new comics will cheer me up. Here are some random choices and there are a whole lot more after the jump...

We've talked before about Perry Moore's novel Hero, his novel about a gay teen superhero coming to terms with his identity and powers. Well you may also know that he is developing it for an ongoing series with the help of comics legend Stan Lee...

It's Northstar! Finally! I'm now convinced that I have the mutant power to start talking about something right before it happens, as I was talking about Northstar just last week. I'll call it my 'Foot in Mouth' powers...

Listen up, mighty PK readership! Your friendly neighborhood Goblin needs some assistance that only you (yes - YOU!) can provide. I'm looking for some truly excellent comic book podcasts...

World of Warcraft #18 There be trouble a-brewin' as the truce between the Horde and the Alliance may not be as strong as they thought ... which is fine with me. Here's hoping the Horse slaughter those pansy Alliance buttheads. For the Horde...

Regardless of your religion (or in cases such as I, lack thereof), enjoy today for the sales stores will invariably have, the plentiful chocolate abound an not feeling guilty at all about not seeing your extended family (or wallowing in agony if you weren't as lucky as I was)...

Well, color me excited! The newest hero getting the stand-alone animated movie treatment from DC is Green Lantern! Sinestro is the main villain and looks to be in his awesome Sinestro Corps outfit, leading me to wonder if we'll ever get a Sinestro War/Blackest Night/War of Lights movie...

Not the X-men, apparently. With Patrick Stewart having supposedly retired from the X-Men film franchise (wink wink), any version of a fourth film (not counting Wolverine and Magneto spin-offs) would have to write around Xavier's absence and keep him dead as seen in the pretty terrible third film...

THis here spiffy little image has been popping up all over the place lately. Marvel's books and website has seen the lone star appear with nary an explination, just the date "July" stamped underneath. I've seen some blogs wonder what it's all about (I told them to ask Alfie)...

The follow-up to the massively successful (and fun) Marvel: Ultimate Alliance video game is coming towards the end of this year and details about the game are slowly trickling out...

Now that Watchmen didn't quite light up the box office lights, the characters have to look elsewhere for employment and dinner. Luckily, the Fanboys webcomic has caught up with them.

DC, why do you taunt me so? I won't give away the ending of this weeks issue of JSA, but the cover is writing a check that the contents can't cash. All I want is for Mary to be back in that sexy black costume, but she remains in that terrible Apokolips getup...

It seems that a fairly major-minor plot point has been leaked from the mighty castle of FOX and the Wolverine film. It seems like nothing can stay secret in this production. Today's the day of Wolverine film overload and spillage...

It seems as though a wee little scamp over at FOX (or one of the companies working on the Wolverine film) got a little antsy and/or disgruntled this week. An excellent grade and watermark-less copy of the film was somehow leaked from the production house and made it's way to the internet...

I know we have a lot of Buffy/Angel/Whedon fans here, so I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Andy Hallet, who played the demon Krevlornswath of the Deathwok Clan, or 'Lorne', has died heart disease. He was 33. Apparently he had been fighting heart disease for five years...

Comics come out on the first of April. I fear for some crazy book to be announced to ship on Wednesday and everyone falls for it until they look at a calendar...

CHUD.com has a story via the New York Post that sheds some light on the forthcoming Spider-Man Broadway show. Even with the casting news and slightly off-putting title to the show, the biggest question surrounding the production is still just who the villain will be...

The first Wednesday of Spring is here! So while it's nice and sunny and warm outside, let's stay inside and read some funnybooks!...

One of the famous questions about Watchmen (the book, not the film) has always been just what the hell really happened to Hooded Justice and Captain Metropolis? WHile we are told explicitly what the world believed happened to them, the art seemed to tell a different story...

Welcome to Il Palazzo's Weekly Heroes Rant! Each week, I hope to inspire you to get off your couch (after watching Heroes), and jump into your computer chair (so you can read about Heroes). Beware though, I'll be recapping each episode as it airs, so spoilers will abound...

Welcome back to the DVD Shop, intrepid shoppers! Our multimedia storefront of the GayGamer castle is back with a new release. Out just last week, the newest addition to DC's library of DVD movies centers on the princess of power herself, Wonder Woman...

We all love comics and we all love movies. So it would stand to reason that we love comic book movies. Yeah, sometimes. Other times, however ......

Since it is Saturday morning, now's a perfect time to present the opening to the oft-maligned yet totally underrated Watchmen animated series back int he 80s. Shocking that Alan Moore himself worked on the show and did the voice for Rorschach. Crazy. Thanks to Winsome Wootini and Popsucker...

The fantastic people over at yU+Co, who did the amazing opening credits for Watchmen have put them online! The credits condense a lot of 'Minuteman' history and extra material into one stunning music video, set to Bob Dylan's The Times They Are a-Changin'...

We all know that we'll be seeing a third Batman film from director Chris Nolan. Same thing with a fourth Spider-Man film from Sam Raimi. But did you know there is an Elfquest film in development? How about a movie based on the sci-fi hero Dan Dare...

This morning, Goblin threw down an interesting article on my e-desk. Apparently, back in November, Unreality Magazine finally answered that 3 season-year old question: Who would win in a fight between the cast of Heroes and the X-Men...

As readers of Uncanny X-Men know, writer Matt Fraction has recently moved the team to San Fransisco...

Following up with yesterday's release of Wonder Woman on DVD (review coming soon!), DC has announced the next film to be released direct-to-DVD. Green Lantern: First Flight will retell the origin of Hal Jordan and his first action as Earth's Green Lantern...

If you're like every other superhero fan out there, you've undoubtedly wished you had super powers yourself. Who wouldn't, right? Of course you were always dragged back to reality when you realized that you couldn't fly, turn invisible or see through walls...

Comic fans from the Bay area know that the one comic book event to look forward to is WonderCon, sister convention to San Diego's Comic Con. Each year, the bay area is bombarded with Comic fans of all ages and types for one of the best gatherings of Comics, Sci-Fi and gaming in all California...

Don't you just love it when your favorite funny book creators mix it up in other mediums? Well, Captain America scribe extraordinaire Ed Brubaker has come to the world of the internet with a new web-only series called Angel of Death. And this ain't no comic book, folks...

Do you like social networking, but do you hate the flat and boring world of 2D? Well, there is hope!...

The day you've all been waiting for is finally here - Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li comes out today! Yes, I know, calm down. It'll be okay...
