Do you work out at a gym? Or at home? Or on the street? Then you can help raise funds to provide local disaster relief during your daily workout with the Red Cross Resolutions Gym-A-Thon from January 16-24, 2010!
It’s just like a traditional walkathon, except you count your miles as you do your regular workout. You...r friends, neighbors and co-workers pledge 50¢, $1 or more per mile you exercise during the week of the Gym-A-Thon!
• Run 25 miles on a treadmill? If your dad pledged $1.50 a mile, he will donate $37.50 to the Red Cross.
• Bike 75 miles on a stationary bike? If your boss pledged 50¢ a mile, she will donate $37.50.
• Travel 100 miles on the elliptical? Your neighbor who pledged $5 a mile will donate $500!
To participate on your own, you can visit the Red Cross Resolutions Gym-A-Thon web page @ http://www.tricountyredcross.org/gymatho n/. We’ll mail you the sign up form, then you get pledges from your friends and family, track your exercise and send in the donations.Read More
