This isn't a senior picture, but high school seniors often bring their pets when they get their senior pictures taken.

Most often, we do the pet portraits in studio. Usually, a friend or family member will meet us at the studio and bring the senior's pet after we've finished with the outdoor portion of the senior's portrait session.

Pets need to be brought in their crates or the same person who brought the pet to the session can take the pet back home immediately after we've taken that perfect pet picture. We're a pet friendly studio, but there isn't a dedicated area for pets to run around, thus the crate or the pet gets escorted back home.

This arrangement works out great and we've got the cute senior with pet pictures to prove it!

Asgid graciously consented to demonstrate why high school senior girls shouldn't wear neon fingernail polish for their senior pictures. To get the full effect, make sure you click on the image so you can see it larger.

Take a look at these examples, the same senior picture pose with and without neon fingernail polish. Do you see how the bright nail polish draws your eye to Asgid's fingernails instead of her face? The neon color is jarring in this otherwise beautifully neutral portrait.

In this case, the neon polish doesn't clash with her outfit, but that can also happen when seniors change clothing during their senior portrait session. Imagine this neon green nail polish with a red dress.......... not a pretty thought, huh?

It's best to avoid neon polishes for your senior pictures. Black or blue nail polish is also a questionable look as they are trendy, and will also look extra odd in a black and white image. Strive for colors that are less trendy. Classic styles are most always the best choice for your senior portraits.

She's a soccer player at her high school and with Texas Spirit club soccer who has earned a scholarship to attend TCU in the fall of 2008 and currently attends John Paul II High School in Plano. We definitely incorporated soccer into her senior photo session, but really, the focus was on this high school senior's fashion style in the other aspects of her life. She wore a variety of sweaters in the outdoor portion of her photo session, and wore a formal dress and a semi formal for part of her studio session. When it was all said and done, there was a lot of variety, from sports to casual to dressy. This senior lives in North Dallas and attends Ursuline Academy; it was very cold the morning of her senior portrait session with Ann Martin Photography. Parrish had a difficult time finding a date that would work with her schedule, and she needed to meet a deadline for two images in her presentation dress. Portraits for her sorority applications were also a priority so she needed a headshot and a full length image for that purpose. The college she's planning to attend has twenty sororities. Her mom knew she needed a headshot and a full length image for each of the sororities and she knew that each person who wrote a recommendation for a sorority on her daughters behalf would also need a headshot and a full length image to enclose with the recommendation. That adds up to a lot of images for sorority recruitment (or sorority rush), alone. When it was all said and done, there were plenty of choices . My favorite of the images shown, is the full length image in blue jeans against the grey spot painted wall, she looks comfortable and confident, and very pretty too!

It was VERY cold the day of this high school senior's photo session, the tradeoff was that we got some beautiful fall scenery. Due to college visits and a few rainouts on the days we had scheduled her session, we were shooting in December. Of course, Texas weather is unpredictable so you never know what you'll get, it could be 70 or it could be 40. It was 40. Brrrrrr. Luckily she had brought some warm clothes and we got a variety of looks and tons of different poses. She also braved the cold for a few minutes with some not so warm clothes. She just threw off the coat, we shot the pose and quickly put the coat back on! She wore a pea coat, it's adorable, in some of the pictures and FOUR different pairs of boots.......no kidding.
I absolutely loved the fur trimmed hoodie from Hollister, it looked good outdoors against a stucco building and in the studio when we blew her hair with the fan, it looked awesome! Look at the website for more of this fashionable Berkner High School senior's portraits.

This high school senior was on the internet looking for the right photographer for her high school senior portrait session. She found the Ann Martin Photography website and saw a senior from the the previous year in our galleries! Megan attends (school name withheld at request of school), and lives in Allen, Texas. Her school has a senior banquet every spring where all seniors have a 8x10 senior picture on display. Her mom said that the senior pic that Megan found of last years client, Aletha, in our senior galleries really stood out against the others, and thats why they decided to come to this photographer, Ann Martin Photography, for Megan's senior portrait.

There was a deadline to turn in her senior image for the banquet, (a few for the slideshow and one for display), so we were taking senior pictures in the cold weather, and we got some great stuff! We did a family portrait and some images with the family dog too. Megan has been cheering with Pro Spirit, a competitive cheer squad based in McKinney Texas since she was 8 years old. It was important to commemorate this part of her life in her senior portraits and we had a lot of fun with that, I absolutely love the image with the cheerleading uniform and the poms, and the national cheerleading champion jackets are awesome props! Did you notice that she has national championship jackets from the NCA, (National Cheerleaders Association) and the ACA, (American Cheerleaders Association) ?
WOW!

Catherine had a great attitude and lots of cute clothes. In the beginning, when I asked for some more serious expressions, she could hardly keep from breaking out in smiles, but after a little while, she could do every pose and expression Judith and I tossed her way, and then some.

J.D. graduated from Plano Senior High and will be attending Oklahoma University in the fall. He's got a scholarship for physics and plays the guitar. The car is a Pantera, an Italian sports car with a Ford engine, I believe. I think the car looks pretty good with J.D.'s leather jacket he got when he was in Italy! The pretty girlfriend's a nice senior portrait prop too, don't you think?

Karina, brought some beautiful outfits to her senior portrait session and here's a few of them. It was unseasonably cold during our session, but lots of fun all the same. Drill team is over for the season, so she didn't have her uniform, but we were able to use their cute PESH golden girl letter jacket for a couple of poses. She's a beauty, don't you think?

Cody brought his guitar to the session with photographer, Ann Martin, and it made a great prop. His senior pictures are amazing because he wasn't self conscious or shy about any posing suggestions that Shannon or I threw his way. Would it surprise you if I told you he's planning on ending up at UNT in Denton after Quad C and is thinking about the department of Radio, Television and Film?

Can you guess where this Allen High School senior is going to college from looking at a small sampling of her senior pictures? Maybe the Oklahoma State background in the first portrait is a giveaway. I love the senior picture of her with her competition cheer jackets too. Megan cheered with the Pro Sprit squad in Mckinney and her squad apparently won their share of national championship cheerleading jackets. Pro Spirit is an amazing group of athletes.
Megan is gorgeous and her senior pictures sure live up to it. Have fun at Okla State, I know you will!

This senior picture or portrait was taken in December 2007, of a beautiful girl from Berkner High School in Richardson Texas.

It's recently been painted by our painter artist. Pieces are painted by hand with traditional style and technique combined with todays technology.

The second image is the same senior portrait shown as a gallery wrap. Scenics make wonderful gallery wraps because there's enough image to wrap around the frame without cutting into the subject.

Judith, a senior at Plano East Senior High, has been assisting on some senior portrait sessions this year. You can see some of her senior graduation pictures on the Ann Martin Photography website.
She's also served as a studio model several times . We had some fun with her prom dress and even dragged her prom date, Daniel, into the end of the prom dress shoot. Judith and Daniel are both members of the Plano East Senior High marching band. Who knew the band was so much fun, and so good looking?

I'm impressed with Kelly's ability to get Russell to talk about his music influences and evolution of his music; I know Russell pretty well from working with him and I found out a lot of things I'd never heard before. It's worth a listen for the interview alone, and Russell sings a few of his songs live too!
