Pocatello Elks Lodge #674
For over 10 years, the Pocatello Elks Lodge #674 has been sponsoring and organizing the annual 4th of July Parade. Americanism is very important to the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks. The lodge is excited to have the opportunity to organize one of the largest patriotic events held in the community. They... are asking that all Pocatello residents participate in the parade and help them celebrate the theme “Pocatello is Patriotic”. Please take time on the 4th of July to contemplate the founding of our country and to remember all of the individuals that have given their lives or their time to provide us with our liberty and our freedom.

The annual Pocatello Elks Lodge #674 Fourth of July Parade will begin staging floats at 7:00am on July 4th, 2009. Floats and parade entries will be staged in the parking lot across the street from Pocatello High School. The Parade will start at 10:00 am. The planned route is as follows:

Floats will leave the parking lot, travel down Arthur, turn left onto Center, turn right on 8th St, and end at the ISU Student Union.

This year the city has added the following restrictions:

1. Nothing can be thrown from the floats; this includes candy. Candy must be handed out.

2. For each float there will be 1 person on each side of the street, keeping people back away from the floats. Please stay back from the floats as they come down the street.

The entry fee this year is $50 dollars for all businesses, $25 for non-profit organizations. You can register online at www.pocatelloelks.org, or by coming down to the Pocatello Elks Lodge at 410 S. Main, between 11:00am and 1:00pm Monday through Friday. Please call them with any questions at 232-2400; please leave a message if no one is available to answer your call.
