John Vasconcellos has for many years been a hero for the underdogs and the downtrodden in our state and for those who felt that their voice would not be heard. He came to the rescue when others were not up to the challenge. He gave us courage when times were difficult and strength to stand up and continue. He has taugh...t us to look ahead and have the vision to make a difference and raise the bar. That to have a dream that a more harmonious system can emerge and is within our grasp and is not only doable but will be achieved with teamwork. His legacy is mighty and his genius is masterful. No words can describe what he teaches but the closest ones I can find is, "common sense".Read More

Hi John, Good to be in touch with you! Sorry to hear about your recent hospital visit. I have been working really hard looking into #usbil #HR2749. Food Safety Enhancement Act and how it can really hurt our local organic farmers and the Farmers Market System. I wrote about that here.

Hi John and Friends: Glad to have JV's take on the budget mess. I am sorry but I cannot blame the Dems for much as they are the majority and have a governor who has opposed it seems just about everything attempted as far as I understand.
The two thirds majority budget vote needs changed and we need to raise taxes. CA deserves to be a place worth living and so we all may need to give.

There's plenty of blame to go around in the budget crisis. Fingers can be pointed at Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Democrats, Republicans -- and you and me.
