ROUTE 66 begins in Chicago and travels along the famed ‘Main Street of America’ to the coast of California. A large car radio delivers us to each new destination along our journey, with DJs and actual vintage radio ads building excitement along the way. I...n the beginning we hear a radio DJ welcome us to Chicago, and four service station attendants burst into THE TEXACO STAR THEME. Each actor introduces himself to the audience in this string of hits: LET’S GO FOR A RIDE; BRING MY CADILLAC BACK; HOT ROD QUEEN; EVERY WOMAN I KNOW. The station bells ring, and it’s time to head out onto the open road with ROUTE 66. We continue our trip across the country, traveling the great Mother Road in song. The musical journey, like the road, ends in California. Here, the audience is introduced to the California sound of the 60s as we reach the outskirts of Los Angeles in THE LITTLE OLD LADY FROM PASADENA and DEAD MAN’S CURVE.

Guys and Dolls plot involves a Times Square citizen by the name of Nathan Detroit, who maintains the "Oldest Established Permanent Floating Crap Game in New York." Seeking a location for his latest high-stakes game, Nathan has an opportunity to rent out the ...Biltmore Garage, but he needs $1000 to do so. He decides to extract the money from high-rolling Sky Masterson, known for his willingness to bet on anything. Nathan wagers that Sky will not be able to talk the starchy Salvation Army lass Sarah Brown into going on a date with him. While Sky goes to work on wooing Sarah, Nathan fends off his own girlfriend Miss Adelaide, who has developed a psychosomatic cold because of her frustrating 14-year engagement to the slippery Nathan. Thanks to some fast finagling, Sky is able to take Sarah on that date, flying to Havana for this purpose. By the time they've returned to New York, Sky and Sarah are in love, but their romance cools off abruptly when Nathan, unable to secure the Biltmore Garage, attempts to use Sarah's mission as the site of his crap game. With memorable musical numbers such as “I’ll Know”, “A Bushel and a Peck”, “If I Were a Bell” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat” Guys and Dolls is certain to be an entertaining children’s production.Read More

Vermillion Players says Welcome to the 2009 season

Vermillion Players
Nunsense
May 28,29,30, 2009 - 7:30 pm
May 31, 2009 - 2:30 pm
Door open 1 hour prior to performances for desserts and beverages.
Directed by Krista Chmiel & Robin Buchenau
Nunsense is a Dessert Theatre held in conjunction with St. Mary’s Women’s Guild. The show will be held at St. Mary’s Parish Hall. The Women’s Guild will... provide the desserts and Vermillion Players will provide the entertainment. Doors will be open 1 hour prior to each performance for desserts and beverages.
This show is not part of the regular season and Season Tickets will not be accepted for entry into this performance. Nunsense is a fund-raiser for both Vermillion Players and St. Mary’s Women’s Guild.
Nunsense begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium, which is currently set up for an upcoming eighth grade production. Here we meet Reverend Mother Regina, a former circus performer; Sister Mary Hubert, the Mistress of Novices; a streetwise nun from Brooklyn named Sister Robert Anne; Sister Mary Leo, a novice who is a wannabe ballerina; and the delightfully wacky Sister Mary Amnesia, the nun who lost her memory when a crucifix fell on her head. Featuring star turns, tap and ballet dancing, an audience quiz, and comic surprises, this show has become an international phenomenon. Read More
