A Rising Tide...
A Rising Tide… focuses on recruiting and training three groups of young Maine people aged 16 to 35: Those who:
1. Are interested in becoming professional campaign organizers but may not have been exposed to intensive campaign work before.
2. Are interested in running for office and want to gain the tools and the skills ...to make that happen… and win!
3. Are not necessarily interested in a career in politics but want to become more effective activists on issue/candidate campaigns, or do community based volunteer work.
The seminar’s raining topics include electoral targeting, message development and media training, the effective field plan, volunteer recruitment, creative political mail, and creating a needs-based campaign budget and timeline.
The education consists of an intensive three-day training seminar in which participants learn every aspect of the inner workings of a successful grassroots campaign in Maine. Seminars are team-based, interactive and fun. Class also provides students with an opportunity to meet and network with the major political players in the state and work as a team with other civicly minded people from all walks of life and from all corners of the political spectrum.
